I love Mexican restaurants, especially this one

So this is now my favorite Mexican food joint. They were so kind and understanding about my dairy allergy. I had the burrito. Holy smokes. It was good. And the salsa is homemade and out of this world. I personally loved the barbacoa

Again, great service, great food, relaxed atmosphere, and reasonable prices. The condiments bar with fresh cilantro, lime, onions, and sauces is outstanding!

So first and foremost, the food here is pretty good minus the Barbacoa is pretty weak on flavor. Everything else there is fantastic. I ordered quite a few different things to sample the menu. The only problem with El Toro is the atmosphere. It needs a new paint job and there wasn’t a single sound in sight. They need some music or something. It was almost depressing eating my food and I’m the only one talking to my friend. It was dead, silent, and I mean dead silent Other than that, the food was pretty darn good

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING FOR ANYONE WITH DIETARY RESTRICTIONS!!! I can't have garlic or onion, which as I'm sure anyone can imagine, makes my options at most Mexican restaurants extremely limited. Well here, they make everything from scratch. Since I developed this sensitivity, I haven't been able to have guacamole out of Mexican restaurant without being *out of commission* for the rest of the day. Here, they actually make it from scratch for each order, so I was able to get guacamole and actually enjoy it. It was so freaking good! And they were so sweet and helpful. It is a little bit pricey for chips and guac which is why I didn't order it with my food the first time around, but when I asked after I had already paid and she said they make it from scratch, I asked if she meant her order and she said yes and then it made sense. So I placed a second order for that and I'm so glad I did. I only asked for meat and cilantro on the tacos I got and they were still so freaking good. I will be back way more frequently than my bank account would prefer, but this place is amazing 🤣

Their drive thru service is the worst. Placed my order over the phone. I was told it would be ready in 15 min. Got there and had to wait behind another card for another 15 minutes. They could have asked the person waiting by the window to pull to the side until their order was ready. By the time I got my food it was cold.

So far I've tried a dry burrito, a gordita, and the chips & guac and all have been delicious (the guac was exceptional.) Service is friendly but quite slow and the restaurant itself has zero ambiance so it's more of a takeout place.

Lately every time we stop in we end up waiting 45 minutes to an hour to get our food. After standing in line 15 -20 minutes to order. Do better!
