This place is a total gem!!! My husband and I stopped on our way to Des Moines on a Wednesday afternoon and so happy we did!!! Definitely don't judge the food based on the size of this restaurant. Portions are massive!!! Hubby went with two patties with bacon and veggies with no bun and the size of the patties definitely didn't disappoint. I had a half order of the prime rib commercial. Was enough for 2 adults. Ordered a bloody to go with lunch and was tasty as well. Super reasonable prices and very nice staff. Will definitely be back!!!

Wicked find!

Fantastic hot beef, not too salty, classic Americana style, sweet server, ice cold beer. Really can’t ask for more.

Oh…and the flowers! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a building behind such a bath of mums!

Food: I have eaten plenty of burgers from all pver the world. The Juicy Lucy burger hangs with the best of them. The burger came out nice and hot, along with a large portion of home-style fries. The fries were seasoned perfectly.

Service: a nice woman behind the cou ter greeted me as I walked in. Told me I could sit wherever and had a menu on my table immediately. She asked what I would like to drink and prompted me with the fact that they had Pepsi products. I didn't have to wait long for my food at all. Perfect service.

Atmosphere: This place has the best grandma's kitchen feel inside. The decor is quaint and cute. I personally adored all of the Albert Lea memorabilia. The lights set a nice, cozy tone, and the inside is clean. Wonderful experience.

Overall, I would say that this is a hands down, a must go place to eat in Albert Lea. The food is great, the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is cozy. I do have one complaint. There is a lack of parking, with how great this restaurant is and how busy it should be I think it would be hard to find a place to park.

Second time here....and likely the last. Prices are kind of high for sandwiches and burgers....neither come with any kind of side. Fries or any other choice are all an added $5 or more. Additionally the sandwiches came and one was incorrect altogether and not the sandwich that was ordered. Waitress was a little apologetic and offered to have it remade......but we declined. Removing it from the bill would have been the right call....or even a beer on the house would've gone a long way. Still left a 25% tip.....as always (cuz we've been there).....but not going back again.

I just had bad luck with food on this vacation. I ordered a mushroom swiss prime rib sandwich. The prime rib was chewy, the mushrooms were mushy. My husband ordered the loaded tots which were amazing. And my kid ordered the app sampler which everything was great on.

The food and service was phenomenal! Could not have found a better place to spend a nice lunch! We were treated with such hospitality and the food was spot on.

It looks like a little house from the outside, but it’s a restaurant when you enter. Surprise! The food was great and service, as well. The hang up we had was the bathrooms. They were not clean at all. They always say a restroom in a restaurant should be as clean as you’d want the kitchen to be. I didn’t see the kitchen, but my group and I did see the bathrooms. Not fun to eat a nice meal and then go in a gross bathroom with water on the floor, an old rag stuffed in the corner and dust everywhere. Garbage was overflowing and tp and towels were unfilled so we just used the stuff sitting there. I hope it didn’t fall on the floor. Anyway, if you don’t need the bathroom it’s a nice little place to dine.
