We truly love this place! The food is delicious, very high quality and did I say delicious!

Our go-to is the soup, lobster bisque is the best, house salad with brown butter vinaigrette and the dry rub wings with the homemade ranch!

My mom and I were first-time diners and chose this restaurant to catch up on life. I actually drove over 40 minutes because we had both heard such great things. It happened to be meat raffle night, so the noise level was higher than usual, which I completely understand.

However, our experience overall wasn’t what we expected. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed, possibly because she was training someone, and we were hardly checked on throughout our meal. I had to get up and ask for napkins, and we had to request refills instead of being asked. When we asked for a dessert menu, she mentioned it was all listed and quickly recited the options, which made us feel a bit rushed to decide instead of being able to look it over.

While the food itself was fine, the service left a lot to be desired. I really wanted to love this place given all the positive reviews, but unfortunately, our visit didn’t live up to the hype.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If joy had a flavor, you’d find it at Hen & Hog. We stumbled upon this place one lazy Sunday — one of those accidental discoveries that end up rewriting your weekend rituals. Now we make the drive from Big Lake every couple weeks, because honestly, brunch anywhere else feels like a compromise. The first thing that hooked us was the Flaming Hen Sandwich. It’s not just a dish — it’s a declaration. Crispy-edged perfection with that sweet-heat swagger that wakes up every corner of your mouth. Then came the Pork Belly Bites, glazed and glistening like they’d been kissed by angels with cast-iron skillets. And those Minnesota Wontons? A love letter to comfort food — golden, tender, a little nostalgic, a little bold, like home and adventure decided to share a plate. The space hums with warmth — rustic wood, soft light, laughter that doesn’t echo, it settles. The staff greets you like they’ve been saving your table all week. You can tell the bartenders know their craft; they pour not just drinks but little conversations that make you feel seen. Every visit feels like a reminder that good food isn’t just cooked — it’s cared for. And these folks care deeply. So here’s to the people who turn ordinary brunch into a reason to get in the car and drive miles just to feel this alive again. Let me add this. I'm a Chef by trade. I'm picky. I'm nice but my expectations are high. They have EXCEEDED expectations EVERY time. Hen & Hog, you’ve officially become our weekend pilgrimage. We’ll keep coming back — for the food, for the people, for that feeling that we’ve found something rare and real. — Bethany Nelson Lieser

In the area for the weekend, and stopped in for breakfast this morning. Everything was delicious, lots of great service and coffee refills from Lala. We will definitely stop by again. 10 stars!

Good breakfast spot with unique items on the menu, food is middle of the road 🛣️ on the edge of spendy, but overall a great experience

Driving through and we were looking for a place to stop and get a bite. Came across this place and thought we’d give it a try. So glad we did! This was no doubt some of the best food we have had eating out in a very long time. My wife, daughter and her friend all agreed! Will be making this a destination spot every time I/we go to the cities. Service was top notch as well.

Overpriced for serving size, Sausage had no favor, hash browns mushy and server brought food and didnt come back until we were done.

Definitely a must stop. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menus are excellent. Great flavor in each dish. The only downside is the strip mall space is what it is. I can get past it for the food. A+ for this small kitchen.

The best food I've ever eaten during a work lunch. We all loved our food, and we had chosen The Hen & The Hog at random without any recommendations or much research, so it was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely be back.

our food was so incredibly perfect that i actually cannot comprehend how one could make this absolute concocktion of a dish. wagyu steak bites, pork belly burnt ends, and house wing with dry rub. highly recommend.

staff is very friendly and hasty when it comes to making sure you are situated and your needs are met.

We've gotten take out here tons of times. Good foodie menu without the yuge prices.

Chicken wings are amazing. Super crisp and flavorful. We enjoyed the honey butter saracha flavor. Could've used more saracha as it wasn't detected in the flav at all. Still loved them.
Also had a gluten free bacon cheeseburger. So good and flavorful. This came with French fries that I don't think we're gf. I wish that I had asked or server would've mentioned it if they weren't.
