We went to The Depot Smokehouse & Tavern for dinner last night! Was super busy but our awesome waitress (Emma R) was phenomenal! She keep us updated on how long our food would take, brought my 10 month old a popover to eat while we waited! Kept our drinks coming and was very busy with other tables as well!! 100/10 would go back just to have her as our waitress!
Really anticipated more from a “smokehouse” joint and was really looking forward to a great dinner after a busy weekend. Our sever was kind, helpful and quick! Food was hot but bland. I’m not one to salt my food, but it was needed. Brisket was tough, salad portions were pretty small, and salmon was boring. Local drunks are boisterous and obnoxious. Really disappointed that this place is more of a local bar & grill than historical site turned smokehouse dinner hotspot.
Overall, I had a positive experience. Staff was kind. The food was just alright, but they have a big menu so I would go back to try something else. It was not terrible, just not as good as expected. The meat was really dry and the pasta sauce was not my favorite. They added baby carrots to the salad which was awkward to eat.
