Super cute little diner with a large selection of breakfast and lunch options. I selected the special of the day which was a hamburger steak and eggs with hash browns. I also ordered a cinnamon roll that was AMAZING.

Oh my goodness! I love this place. It's cute and quaint on the inside. The decor is from the 50s and 60s. There was like 8- 10 tables. The servers were super nice and friendly. Helpful too. They gave us names of places to go thrift shopping. The food was soooo good, exactly what we expected at a mom/pop restaurant. Definitely was comfortable food. If you're ever in Alexandria, MN, eat here, it's worth it.

We were up in Alexandria at a wedding and as we were leaving town we decided to try the Downtown Cafe. The service we good, our coffee cups were kept full even though the place was very busy. Our meals were very good, a couple of us tried the specials and weren't disappointed. It was a good value for the money. Give it a try.

Classic small town diner with great food prices. Their Carmel rolls were the standout item. Best of all was the service; the two women working the front of the house were a great team, super friendly, and did a fantastic job taking care of a full house.

First time at this location. Been to a couple others. Great service, big menu and COLD beer.
The waitress was nice. Unfortunately, that was about it. Our party waited for an HOUR for our food. We had a flight to catch, so we had them pack up our food. When they did that, they FORGOT the biscuits and gravy that we PAID FOR. Will not be returning.

Got there and the waitress was fine. The food took a half an hour to get to our table and it was cold. It’s like the guy in the back didn’t even know how to cook and there was nothing specified in the menu. Their California burger is had no cheese. I didn’t even say it in there. and the fries and onion rings were cooked too long
Don’t blink you’ll miss out on an amazing spot I’m over an hour away and will always stop every time I’m in town what a local jem always ask what there daily specials are you won’t even need to look at the menu (photo is fish fry during Friday lent)
