Food is always amazing. Prime rib is something to look forward to at the end of the week. It was absolutely packed and we waited 30 minutes for seating but the wait went fast.

This is a great place for steaks & fish, wine, beer & spirits in great spirits. The burgers are okay. The biggest reason for me to go are the servers, the patrons, and live music every other Friday. It's also an establishment with a long local history even though it had to be rebuilt (after a fire, I think). The building retains an older, classy feel, even through a casually clamorous Friday night. It's a great clamour, and one you should join if you like a friendly atmosphere. If you're at the bar in the evening on a weekend, you'll be tended to by Neal. He'll do you right. In my short time here, I've never sat at a table, but I see the table servers are just as on it, and every bit as friendly as Neal. The kitchen staff knows what they're doing, too.Confident all your needs are well buckled down, feel free to turn to your neighbor and do-si-do, or probably just chat. Nobody do-si-dos anymore unless the bartender has already called a ride for them. I'd say every conversation I've had there was more fun and less hokey than I ever felt square dancing in gym class. If you're like me, you'll spend awhile there everytime you go. You can expect your wallet to be a little lighter than when on your way out from some other places, but it's in-line with other of the finer establishments in the area. If you feel physical pain whener you spend a dollar, you'll be happier at other good local establishments like Angelina's or The Eagles Club. The Interlachen Inn is where you treat your hardworking self to the finest, casually. Snoot is not known here. Great food, wine, top beers fitting most tastes, and friendly locals and people feeling local at present – you'll find these in a 13-card spade flush; rare indeed.

Of 9 people, only 2 dinners were eaten, both were the ribs. Overcooked salmon, only 1 veg choice. The prime rib was heated individually to the point of yuck, hash browns are terrible. On the flip, wait staff was attentive and personable. She tried her best to make it right, and my glass of whiskey was delicious.

Staff was great, prime rib was so tough all 4 of us could not eat it. I was very disappointed. We complained several times and was only told it must have been a bad side of meat. We were credited for 2 of the prime rib dinners, but not the other 2. We left our chewed up meat on the plate. Drinks were good, atmosphere fun.

It had been a while since our last visit to the Interlachen Inn. We were looking for that cool vibe that we remembered from previous visits. What we got was a chilly welcome, a meal I could have gotten at Hardee's and staff that was more concerned about rolling silverware, wondering if they should fill the salt and pepper shakers and hokieing the carpet next to us. The walleye sandwich was most definitely not hand breaded as the menu suggested, the waitress had taken the temperature of how I wanted my burger, how I ordered it and how it came out was 2 very different things. If I had to bet the burger was most likely par cooked sitting in a hotel pan full of Au Jus, topped with green olives warmed up just enough to melt the cheese. The French fries were hot and above average so that was the win for the Interlachen Inn. We were not asked about dessert so we decided to go back into town for ice cream. We left underwhelmed.

I had a mixed experience there. I had the Interlachen pasta and when it came out the chicken was cold inside. When it came out the second time it was hot and very good. I'm sure that it was just a 1 off mistake in heating time. Very nice place and friendly staff. We will be going back again.

We had dinner on a Friday night at the Interlachen Inn. We were a little disappointed that they did not have any fish special on Fridays. We both ordered ribeyes. One was supposed to be medium and the other medium well. We could not tell the difference! They were both charred on the outside! The portions were good but the hash browns were also over cooked. Our server was pleasant and we would have said something about the steak being over cooked but we did not have time to hassle. The restaurant is smaller on the inside than it looks on the outside. We had made a reservation so we were seated almost immediately. We would have preferred a table but we took a booth anyway. (small space) We are only in Alexandria once a year so it was disappointing as we were looking forward to eating there.

We were promptly seated per our reservation at 7. 2 glasses of wine and a whiskey on the rocks were served at 7:45. A awfully long wait. Salad came at 8:10 and food at 8:28. My salmon was cooked perfectly. The loaded baked potato was probably loaded many hours earlier. The long wait was not worth it
