La Ferme – A Hidden Gem for Lunch in Alexandria, MN If you're in Alexandria or just passing through, make time for lunch at La Ferme, located right on Main Street in town. This cozy, welcoming café offers a relaxed, counter-service experience — you order at the front, and they bring your food to your table. It has a farm-to-table vibe with elevated comfort food that’s fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
We stopped in for lunch before a wedding with a group of four and left completely satisfied. Each of us tried a different sandwich, and every one was a hit. My wife had the roast beef sandwich on gluten-free bread, which held up well and was packed with tender, perfectly seasoned beef. I went with the Cuban, loaded with tasty pork, ham, pickles, and mustard — a flavorful, classic combo done right. Our friends enjoyed the Italian and Chipotle Chicken sandwiches, and both gave it a thumbs up.
What truly sealed the experience were the cookies — warm, fresh from the oven, and absolutely delicious.
La Ferme is well worth the stop for lunch: unpretentious, inviting, and full of flavor. A local gem in downtown Alexandria.

Mother's Day brunch was delicious, perfectly portioned and amazingly gluten free for my sister who has celiac. They were able to customize the menu so she could eat everything we did. Only wish they had prosecco by the bottle vs just a glass. Would definitely come back for another special occasion.

Farm to Fork cuisine. I had the Bizzo burger. Every bite was melt in your mouth delicious. The turkey lentil soup reminded me of soup my Mom made. The cream of tomato was bursting with flavor. We can't wait to eat here again. Alexandria Minnesota is lucky to have this gem in their city
Today I was privileged to get a preview of the new brisket sandwich. It's Amazing flavor, texture and smell I would of taken a picture of it but it smelled so good I couldn't wait to get home. My Boys smelled it when I walked in the door and now I'm sharing it with them too. 5 stars so yummy!

This easy, quaint, and delicious farm-to-table cafe really caught me by surprise - in the best sort of way! The owners were running the front- and back- of house and still made time to chat with me about the local ingredients and where they source their menu items, I LOVED the atmosphere and aesthetic (earthy, inviting, cozy, in a historic old bank), and the soup and sandwiches we ate were incredible. Fresh ingredients, soft warm sandwich breads, the sauces on the sandwiches were phenomenal (I recommend the Chipotle Turkey and the Cuban). The freshly-squeezed lemonade was perfectly sweet and tart and the best I’ve ever had. I hope the community of Alexandria knows what a gem they have right in the heart of downtown and how impactful a business with a menu style like this is can be for their local food economy. Can’t wait to go back!
