Just a delightful spot to stop for lunch off 35.
The staff was helpful and friendly. You order at the counter, and they give you a pager if you want to wait for your order at a table. Very reasonable prices for the size of portions you get.
Food is good, the french fries are huge and well seasoned while the ketchup packets are novel as they're not one of the major brands so it was a unique flavor experience.
The atmosphere is where it really shines. There's indoor seating as well as patios on 2 sides. I was there in early September, and the 'back' patio seating is situated under eaves absolutely covered in what seemed like wild grape vines. It cut any afternoon heat, provided lovely shade, and cut down on any highway noise while looking lovely and still letting breeze through.

We have had a good experience in the past at Chickadee. Not today
For $35 including a tip:
We arrived at 12:05, the restaurant was not busy. We ordered 2 soups of the day which was beef stew and a small Caesar salad. Our order took almost 25 mins
The potatoes were rock hard in the stew and the Caedar salad was swimming in dressing . We will think twice about exiting off of I35 to eat there. P.s. silverware was plastic and soup came in a paper cup.

It’s fresh, healthy food and a chill coffee house vibe. Pro tip, call your order ahead. Food prep is slower here so plan accordingly

My family has been coming here for years, a treat on the way up to Duluth! However, the last time we visited the service was less than acceptable. The older woman who works the register was incredibly rude, my mom and I have never been treated like we were so stupid. We will not be returning again, we will miss the tasty food and good coffee but we will bring our business elsewhere. Somewhere where we aren’t burdening them by ordering their food!

This is a great stop on the way to or from Duluth. Great drinks and easy on/off from 35.
Best place to stop for some tea and a bite between Hinkley and Duluth! Check out this cozy spot!

A little coffee shop with QUALITY house made food. I even bought frozen soup for dinner later. It was delicious. This is a must-stop on my way to and from Duluth.

We had a spur of the moment stop for coffee right off I35. What a nice surprise to find good food, too.
