Excellent selection of beer and wine plus gourmet pizzas. Remote location is worth it and added to the charm of the winery.

Very enjoyable tasting and tour at Grandview Valley Winery! Wonderful Pinot Noirs that exemplify the flavors of the area. Definitely worth a stop for some great wine and beautiful views.

Not very good pizza tonight. Cold and doughy. Brought people from AZ. To try it for the first time very disappointed.

Where to start… it was Trivia night so it was packed. My beef tips were cold and when the server came to get my plate she said “you didn’t want the beef tips?” I said “they were cold when they came”. She politely offered to have the kitchen remake them but I told her that wasn’t necessary. I honestly wasn’t that upset about the $19 cold steak. We got 2nd in Trivia so 1st and 2nd place teams were told to go up to the bar for our gift certificate. The gentleman (he has a strange braided rat tail) politely asked if we could give him 5 min. We both said yes. We proceeded to watch this gentleman walk around a bit then go upstairs to a table of women. I assume one was his significant other the way he was rubbing her back and wiping vomit from her face. About 20 minutes later the gentleman finishes and walks to the other end of the bar. A bartender goes up to him and motions to us. By this time many of the guests had left because Trivia was over. The gentleman says “oh ya…” then slowly walks over to an older woman and talks to her. She heads to the “office”. Braided rat tail comes over and says “She’s getting your gift cards” I asked him “Why were we told to wait for you when she could have gotten the gift cards a long time ago?” He says “I don’t know I haven’t had a good night. I was cleaning up puke” I replied “Ya, join the club, my food was cold and this is the 2nd time getting $hi&$y service out of 2 times being here and now I’ve had to wait 20 min for a gift certificate when someone else could have gotten it” he looks at me and says “Then don’t come back, I don’t care”. He walks up the steps across the balcony and goes to the microphone that was setup for Trivia. Into the microphone says “Ladies and Gentleman the girl at the end of the bar just chewed my butt because she had to wait too long for her free money” at this point another guest who had been standing with me (also complaining about their service) yelled that he was out of line. The woman came from the office and handed the bartender the gift cards. He handed them out to us. I laid the gift card on the bar and said I didn’t want it because I wouldn’t be back. So my advice to the family that owns and runs this business, if you have 10+ people on staff to service a 20 table establishment, you’re doing something wrong when at least 7 of the tables still complained about the service they received. Thats how many people I talked to tonight, either while waiting for my ‘free money’ or on my way out the door. I watched lines of your ‘staff’ go in and out of the Employee Only room with drinks in hand. You over served that poor woman so much that she was vomiting in the bathroom during round 3 of trivia and vomited on the table before finally passing out at her table. Teach your ‘staff’ to recognize this behavior. Also, it was completely inappropriate for your ‘staff’ to get on a microphone and lie about a guest who complained. Even if what he said was true, still inappropriate and unprofessional. No one tried to stop me to apologize for braided rat tail’s behavior so that tells me everything I need to know. For any one looking for a recommendation, I wouldn’t recommend Rivendale nor Grandview Winery. Both owned by the same people and both have horrible customer service. Unless maybe if you’re a regular and they know you. Then you probably get invited into the Employee Only room. Wonder what goes on back there?

Besides the absolutely delicious pizza and beautiful wine (with a wonderful selection!), everyone is so welcoming and friendly, the service is impeccable. We brought our 3 kids (2 under 5) and they had no trouble, and mom and dad enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Next we need to start working our way through all the wines and pizzas they have to offer!

My husband and I drove about an hour to Grandview have pizza and wine today. The service was slow. They only had 2 waitstaff on, and it wasn’t busy. We have been there in the past & had no complaints with the service. Grandview carry’s 14 wines on their menu & were out of stock of 6 or 7 of them. We were only able to purchase 1 of the 4 wines we planned on taking home. This was discussed. If you are driving there to drink/buy wine, I suggest you call ahead of time to see what they have in stock.

It is one of the most unique places. Fantastic Food, Drinks and Beautiful Grounds. It is run very well and we are always happy with our service! It is a GEM! We travel about 50 miles to get there, and it is so worth it. The next time we come, we are eating at Rivendell. We have had the Pizza numerous times and last time there, we had the cauliflower crust! It is the Bomb-Diggity. We can't wait to come back?

Great pizza and friendly service. Awesome selection of wines. Beautiful views of the Minnesota River valley. Only complaint is lack of staffing can be an issue.
