I had an unexpected overnight stay in Benson, MN and went for breakfast to the Whistle Stop Diner. I enjoyed my visit and my meal. Very friendly atmosphere, prices are good, and those pancakes ARE indeed big.
My husband and I had the daily specials of chicken chow mein and roast beef dinner. Delicious! Server was delightful. Atmosphere--what's not to like about eating in an old train car? Go there!
The Whistlestop was a recommendation from a friend... so it was a must. Food and service was excellent. I had a "B & G Omelet" WOW!!!! It was one of the best Omelets I ever had. BTW.... it stands for Biscuits and Gravy.... would have had enough to for leftovers - but my husband took care of that.
