I bought two "Rutabaga" pasties recently. WHAT rutabaga? I couldn't see or taste it in either. I might as well have bought two without. The crust had the flavor and texture of shoe leather, and there were more potatoes than anything else in them. GROUND MEAT makes them less appealing. At $8.50 each, I could have gone to Super One and bought at least three of their varieties for $17.00. My mom was born and raised in Chisholm. We ate homemade pasties with RECOGNIZEABLE...
I’ve had a lot of pasties over the years between Northern Minnesota and the upper peninsula of Michigan. I have to say these are definitely my favorite. They cook great, the consistency is awesome (drier like they should be but no condiments needed). All the other locals I talked to like them too! I have gotten hooked on their jalapeño beef sticks. Stopped in to get a couple frozen pastys for later. Got two with rutabaga. I thawed and then cooked them in the air fryer. Came out great, good consistency! A little on the drier side just like a pasty should be but not so dry that you had to use condiments. Definitely will be back. I am local and would recommend to anyone I meet. Looking forward to trying the sausages next. I make pizzas down the street from here and this business is a great part of our local community!
