Look at my long years of reviews-this is how you can know truth on here.
THIS IS NOT THE MADE-RITE YOU GREW UP WITH ALL ACROSS IOWA & AROUND
The very fact that they DO NOT KNOW WHAT (wet or dry) is should say it all. Then they do not have fries or shakes.
Could not be more disappointed after spending a ridiculous $35 for 4 sandwiches and driving 3hours round trip.
Save your money & wait until you are back south and near a TRUE MADE-RITE
I'm not some hack that just gets on to write negative things about places. Look at my more than lengthy years on here & reviews.

I absolutely love maid rites. This place was cute and clean. The maid rites were double the price of the place I'm used to but they were a little bigger in size. However, the flavor was not as good.

I believe the Barn is the oldest continually operating restaurant in Brainerd. I love the atmosphere and the Maid-Rite burgers.

A blast from the past, have eaten here for 47 years, if you ever watched the television show Rosanne when they had the loose meat diner you will know where they found the idea. Actually called maid rite eats. They also have great breakfasts, we were never around later because we came up to fish.

Sitting there eating a nice lunch, those pies start whispering your name. I've been here twice, and twice I ordered pie dispite being full. So good.

Hubby had the maid rite sundae and I had an everything omelet. Both were excellent. It's a 90 minute drive but we'll be back!
I went there a couple days ago and got an omelette and hash browns,my hash browns where perfect not to crispy and not to mushy10/10 my omelette was wonderful perfect amount of cheese and extra sausage!!! I was kinda scared of the barn getting new owners but the new owners were wonderful 10/10 restaurant.
I had the best breakfast I've had in a long time. The biscuits and gravy were awesome! They serve a full order, but the half order with over medium eggs for me were just perfect. The service was excellent, too.
Place was amazing!!!!

Excellent breakfast and service!
If I lived nearby, I would visit The Barn often! I love this kind of place!! I think you'll enjoy it too if you enjoy small, cozy, homey, friendly and yummy! Easy to find on a primary road. It is small and not showy, so you could miss it (but don't). Lots of seats around the serving counter or grab a booth near the windows. Small but tidy restroom is available. Service was small-town friendly, very pleasant and speedy. Food was very good. I had the Country fried steak, hash browns, wheat toast and scrambled eggs. It was soooo good! I took some pie to go but it didn't seem like their best effort. I would definitely order pie again though because I think it is pretty killer on the regular (and inexpensive). Overall price is very fair but it is cash only, so don't plan to use your credit card. They have an ATM so guys like me aren't left without an option.
