If you are not from the area and you love to golf. YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS COURSE! Great food and friendly staff.
Played here last week for the 2nd time. Course is beautiful, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We played after a HS meet, and the staff kept us in the loop non stop that our tee time was going to move by a few minutes. (Not a big deal at all, but they went out of there way to ensure we knew what was going on.) It's the small details that make the difference, and made us feel like we were important.
Food, service, view … everything exceeds expectations.
Beautiful, tuff course ?️♀️.
Architecturally interesting and challenging course. Only complaint is that some of the greens had ant hills on them
It should be on your bucket list, outstanding golf
Better be a good golfer. Course was awesome people were better. It is challenging though
I've lived in the area all my long life, however today was my first time visiting The Classic at Maddens. We were very warmly greeted by several of the staff, and Grant was behind the bar and couldn't have been more pleasant and accommodating. Every effort was made by Grant, Jessica and Brandon to make my lunch as memorable and perfect as could be. For lunch we ordered the Roasted Beet (will order again!), the Keto Turkey Wrap (num!) and the BLT. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm with a perfect view of the lush, green golf course. You can dine out on the deck overlooking the course if you wish. I honestly can't wait to visit Grant, Jessica, Brandon & Crew again! 5 BIG stars!
The Classic is a stunning course and it is in outstanding condition.
Great golf course

Great facilities, challenging, and in excellent early fall conditions.
The Classic Grill at Maddens is unmatched for Brainerd fine dining. The food, service and ambiance is top notch. The rotating menu keeps it exciting to try new items, especially when each new item introduced is so spectacular. The food menu is unique in that the chef introduces new flavors and pairings which are flavorful and delicious. The service is of the upmost quality, with a friendly and professional wait staff. In the summer, try to sit on a patio for scenic outlooks over the beautiful Maddens Classic Golf Course. The Classic Grill is my favorite restaurant to visit whenever we are in the Brainerd area.
Pretty well maintained. You definitely pay a premium because it's a resort. A course of this quality is typically half the price in a non tourist area
I tried walleye again and I’m just going to have to notch it up to not my type of fish. It was prepared and seasoned well and was served at a great temperature, just not for me. My little family enjoyed their meal however.
Played golf here a couple of times over the years. The tips do stretch the course out a bit, always a beautiful course in great condition. If you get a chance to visit during the fall leave colors you won't regret playing here. They do have golf carts but for your first I'd also suggest walking it (if you're able to). However I'm not going to lie, after 17 holes, my middle aged body was a little fatigued walking up 18.Staff have always been fantastic, and accommodating, Stay and Play packages do help with the dollar price, and they also help setup tee times at other courses in the area. The restaurant on the course is pretty good, and the view is gorgeous.I've you've never been here and you golf, you need to visit at least once. A bucket list destination for any MN Golfer.
