We used to love Donut Star. Got a dozen today and have to say they were not great. The maple frosting tasted fake, the chocolate frosting didn't have any depth, it was just sweet. The cream in the Boston cream donut was gritty and the raised donuts were so dry. The cake donuts still tasted good. Sorry to say, Donut Star was better before.

BE ADVISED: the coffee is terrible. BYO from the ground up the brew needs improvement. I had the cold brew the roast was burnt and idk not cured properly or something. It was undrinkable.

I grew up in Eagan and have been going here for the occasional donut usually on Sunday mornings for decades. Haven't been in about a month, but I find myself craving a donut right now and thought of them immediately. Have yet to find anyone with a custard bismark donut as good as theirs! Might have to stop in again this sunday! My only complaint is that I wish they were open 24 hours :D The employees are always friendly, the donuts are always fresh, and the prices are fantastic!
