Looking for a spot with good food, good atmosphere, and a tap list with a bunch of options? This is a good place to start! Has that kinda mom and pop, family owned restaurant vibe, staff is great and very hospitable and there’s enough beers on tap that I have yet to not find at least one that I’d like. They are all about the heat when it comes to spicy, so if that’s something you’re interested in I highly recommend trying the ghost pepper sauce that they make in house but be warned it will make you sweat! Big fan of the burgers and chicken sandwiches and the chicken strips are hands down the best I’ve ever had, I know that’s a bold statement but I stand behind it 100%!

Re-editing my review from 2015 -- I've been a local patron of JL BV since 2015 and I try to stop by on a weekly basis. I definitely supported them during the Covid lockdowns. Their burgers and chicken are top notch and the selection of tap beers is amazing. I'm a cider person myself, and they always have the best cides on tap. The entire staff is great and very friendly!

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in life. Used to go weekly for an entire year when there was a location in NE Mpls. Drink selection could stand to have less IPAs on tap but overall same amazing menu of burgers and fries. My go-to is a Mt.Mushmore with coleslaw and a fried egg. Jalapeño cheddar fries were excellent.

It was 10/10 for burgers. Didn’t even get a picture! We got the JL burger and Nutty burger. Both amazing my husband said it was the best PB&J burgers he’s ever had.

It’s a cozy restaurant with a large beer selection. No cocktails. The menu isn’t huge but everything they make they do well.
The chips made in house were fantastic. Everything was affordable 😊
Our server was so sweet and timely.

They have fantastic food. Whether its burgers or chicken. The beer selection is great. Plus they have 1918 root beer which is the best there is. The beer cheese dipping sauce is the best. We have a girls day lunch here every month.

Burgers are great here and you can get them without fries which is nice. Awesome beer selection. Have been to a couple other locations before. Service was super slow the day we went in at this location and it didnt seem busy at all so hopefully that was just a one off thing. Will update next time I go back.

I drive all the way from my home state and make it to this JL Beers just to have their delicious walnut burger. I eat everything from here within minutes because it's the best burger I've ever had. I wish JL Beers was in Madison WI and everywhere. This place deserves all the 5 stars, even 10 stars.
