The food was good, however, the restaurant looks dirty. The carpet should have been replaced years ago

I recently found this place and I'm ever so thankful! I went by myself and sat at the secret table. My server (I forgot her name) was so nice and welcoming. The place is simply charming and is family oriented. The food was soooo good! I plan on going back after their family vacation. If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend it!

Great Home Cooked Style Food in a Family setting restaurant. I've never been disappointed with the food ! And the staff are always friendly. So If you're tired of those Corporate type restaurants come this J's to relax and enjoy the experience !

I like the small cafe restaurants. The service was very slow, and the food was average. While my son and I were eating, the staff reached across the table, searching a specific jam without any notice. Our small table was already crowded with our order. Probably would not return to this place.

I absolutely loved this place. It is an authentic family restaurant, the servers are siblings, and mom is in the kitchen. The food was good and they gave you nice size servings, food is cooked to order by mom so there is a little wait, but the food comes out fresh and hot.

I find it rather funny when they have a sign on the front of their window saying “ best breakfast in town”. We honestly waited over twenty minutes to even order our breakfast this morning. The food reminded of going through the chow line on base. Tasteless and over priced for a local diner. Extremely disappointed. Never again.

It was a Saturday 10am breakfast and there was clearly a rush. It took a little less than an hour for the food to arrive (with apologies) and we had to wave over the waitress to pay our bill an hour later. Service was perfunctory.
The food was tasty (Collette omelette). I heard this was the best place south of the river…I will keep looking. Average to slightly above average “feel.” I am looking for a monthly family-operated place halfway between Northfield and downtown Mpls. Not many to choose from. Maybe Shakopee?
Summary: meh.
