Excellent! I went there just as they opened at 8 on a Sunday morning. Despite being early, there were still four other people in line which told me it must be good. It didn't disappoint, the coffee was delicious! I did not try their pastries, but they all looked good so I'll have to next time. Highly recommend! Polite staff, cozy environment.

Even on a brutally frigid Minnesota January this place was packed with families, couples and individuals soaking up the warm vibes.The minimalistic decor strikes a good balance between being cozy and trendy.They have a good selection of specialty drinks, pastries, and breakfast food. I went for a plain latte; it had a slightly bitter espresso with low acidity, but it was well-made. Despite the busy atmosphere, the service was friendly and prompt. It was fun to see regulars striking up conversation with the baristas.They also have an Airbnb seemingly above the cafe? Overall, a great spot, and I look forward to trying it again in warmer weather.

Nice little cocktail spot in the heart of Carver. It's a coffee shop by day, cocktail bar at night. The best of both worlds! It's on the smaller side but your typical coffee shop ambiance. We have only been here in the evening, so I can only speak to the cocktail side of things, but heard from friends that their coffee is very good. So far, we have not gotten a drink that we have not liked. You will need to stick to the menu but they have a nice variety of drinks, as well as some wines, ciders and beers. The employees have always been friendly and helpful. We recommend Getaway as a nice little spot to get a pre (or post) dinner cocktail.

The gingerbread latte (pictured) is hands down the best one I have ever had. & there are so many bakery options- including GF. There's some sandwiches as well. I talked to the barista some and he mentioned that they do cocktail evenings certain days of the week! & food trucks in the summer. Sounds fun!* free WiFi* family friendly* pay attention to hours / days

My wife and I love going here for coffee and baked goods. The small city of Carver is underrated in my opinion. The historic downtown area has a very cozy vibe nestled along the Minnesota River. The Getaway Motor Cafe is a wonderful addition to the downtown area - located within a thoughtfully renovated building that is on the historical registry. The interior design of the cafe is very tasteful and inviting. The staff are always very friendly. We met the owners once and really enjoyed our conversation with them. We have not been here in the evening yet, but I’ve heard they have live outdoor music and food trucks in the summer, which sounds fun to check out. There’s also an Airbnb upstairs if you want to get away for a while.Kid-friendliness: Our three-year-old toddler loves coffee. We don’t give him coffee of course, but he sees mom and dad drink coffee so much that he has grown an appreciation for coffee and coffee shops. He helps us make coffee drinks at home all the time. He really enjoys sitting at the bar to watch the barista make our coffee drinks. Each time we’ve brought our toddler to Getaway Motor Cafe, the workers have been very interactive with him. Our toddler is social and makes friends with other customers. They have a little basket of books and toys for little kids if that says anything. The owners have a little boy themselves, so I think they understand children and are happy to see them in the cafe.
