Stony Point Resort & Campground

Part time rv’rs. Never been to the lakes region and decided to go on a last minute trip in late October and after finding believe it or not northern Minnesota closes down after labor day and through a good friend’s recommendation and contact ended up at Stoney Point. All I can say is wow! I can’t wait to go back when it’s “open”. Thanks again for accommodating a couple of lost Texans. 100% recommend for a great resort stay.

The location was amazing. Seeing all the boats and the food at the restaurant was amazing. The morning burger with an egg on top is a must. They have a salad & soup bar that I would also highly recommend. Their gift shop has plenty of things for friends & family members back home.

I loved camping at this place as a gathering space for our family reunion.

There were a ton of activities to do on a larger scale. Plus the playground area for the kiddos. :)

The only disadvantage I saw, was how busy it was.

Definitely geared towards the extrovert personality type.

We had a family emergency and had to cancel our reservations. The new owner refused to give us a refund on our camping fees. This is not only inconsiderate, it is heartless and downright inhumane. I was told that the old owners would have refunded us immediately. Don’t be fooled by good reviews for this place. The good reviews are all for old owners. The new owners deserve less than one star.

We stop at the restaurant at least once every summer with our large family. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. We have a picky toddler who ends up cleaning her plate. Our 10 year old has a deep love for breakfast foods and although they are no longer serving breakfast they were happy to make her some bacon eggs and toast. Fantastic food, wonderful service, lifelong memories.

Went to have dinner. We were seating quickly, however we did not get any service. We sat for 20+ minutes waiting while 4 other tables that came in after us (bigger parties) got served. One of the owners was even walking around not busy and didn’t even try to come our way. We ended up leaving. We won’t be back.

Staff was very snotty and told us, "we won't seat you", after learning that we didn't make a reservation prior to coming. They seem to have plenty of business, and don't need ours. Make a reservation or don't bother!

we travel in an RV - this place is so crowded - too many bugs - mosquitoes everywhere ? black/horse flies are really bad - there is a restaurant on the property which was okay
