I’ve been to this meat counter 3 times in the last 6 months. The first and second time was for bacon and it was terrible. Each time. Which surprised me bc I moved here last year from pequot lakes and would frequent the location in Baxter. Loved it every time. I’ve loved Van Hansons for many years so I didn’t want to write this place off completely and tried one last time. Getting burgers, wieners, potato salad, macaroni salad and some skewers. Got home had one less burger in the package than displayed and the potato salad tasted like it had the salmon smeared in. I didn’t buy salmon. The bacon both times was gross. I mean gross. I didn’t finish either of the LBs I purchased and will never be returning to this counter. 3 strikes you are out. By far the worse meat counter I’ve ever had the displeasure of shopping at. Shame on you

Visited last week to get brats and was completely ignored at first. Then when I was helped finally The cowboy brats were amazing though so no complaints there.Went there today and was greeted in the same unfriendly manner as last time. I’ve had to say hi to the workers first both times now because they seem to just stare blankly at you when walking inThe guy who wrapped my jerky didn’t have gloves on and literally ripped off a piece of jerky and was eating it while weighing mine out. Never seen that before. Next, I ask for 2 lbs of ground beef and -without gloves again- he full on rubs/itches his eye for a few seconds with his hand then proceeds to grab the ground beef to weigh it out without grabbing gloves or washing hands.I won’t be back to this location as I don’t feel welcome and it doesn’t seem like correct sanitary food handling protocols are being followed

This is by far the best von Hanson’s around. They always have the biggest selection of fresh brats, the staff are very friendly and eager to help as soon as you walk in the door. The customer service here is outstanding. The store is always well stocked, clean and organized. I have never had a bad experience coming to the champlin Von hansons
