Sarna's Classic Grill

The other week, I was in the northern metro suburbs and started to get hungry. I drove past Sarna's Grill in Columbia Heights and, judging by the building's welcoming appearance, decided to park and give it a try (though I know that doesn't necessarily mean the food or service will be good). That said, my decision was bolstered by the spacious, inviting interior, wide aisles, booths filled with couples and families, and the waitstaff delivering trays of appetizing food. A friendly waitperson greeted me at my table and offered me a menu with a variety of options, from burgers and salads to complete meals, including pasta and hot turkey or beef. I chose the BLT on artisan whole wheat with a side of coleslaw. It looked so tempting that I took a bite of half the sandwich before realizing I hadn't taken a picture of the food. What you see in the attached image is the mouth-watering inside of the delicious BLT. As it turned out, I had an hour to kill. After finishing my meal, I asked if I could hang out for a while. The friendly waitperson said I could stay as long as I wanted and brought me a cup of coffee to pass the time. That kindness made my day and earned her a nice tip. Plus, I promised to return the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

The wife and me went to Sarna’s for our 45th anniversary dinner around 2 pm on a Friday afternoon to celebrate. We were seated immediately and our server was there within five minutes and took our order. My wife ordered a Bloody Orange 75 drink to start off. We then ordered a Berry Salad for the wife and I ordered a steak and shrimp Special. In less than fifteen minutes we were served. My wife said the drink was very good and that she would order it again. The berry salad was also very good and tasty. I gotta say my steak was excellent, loved the char, the taste and the texture, the quality was outstanding. The shrimp were grilled to perfection and the onion ring on the steak was also great. The mashed potatoes were just perfect and tasted great, so were the green beans. Great service by Ashley O. And she knew her stuff when questioned about drinks and dessert items. Very good overall experience and we could hear ourselves talk , not a noisy loud kind of environment. We definitely will go back again.

Five of us had brunch this morning - It was about 10:30 just after opening.The salad and the pasta salad was good.All the food wasluke warm at best(bacon,sausage,eggs,biscuit snd gravy).The prime rib was OK,The wait service was poor(no refills of pop,water,or coffee).In other words our experience was not very good.We have eaten there before and had good food,service,and experience.Thank you in advance -Dave Fridgen 3755 Washburn avenue North 612-521-4063.My wife Georgette Paquette paid the bill.

Nice place and we had a very friendly server. Four of us had dinner - two had great meals (turkey and pot raost), two were just so-so (grilled walleye and steak/shrimp special).

Service was slow took over 30 minutes to order my salmon was dry no flavor

Fun little gem of a place in Columbia Heights. The menu is expansive and lots of drink offerings. Will be back thanks all.

Came here after my daughter's rugby game and didn't realize it was Bingo day. So some us decided to play. Service was great along with the food. Didn't win at Bingo lol

Had steak and shrimp $25.99 special. Everything was great except the steak. I unfortunately had to send back a tough gristle filled steak for a better, but tough steak.
The service was excellent, and they did their best to satisfy us. There are many delicious items on their menu, and we will be back... but steak will not be chosen again.

Big shoutout to the kitchen for actually grilling the chicken – and nailing it! The flavor is incredible, a total game-changer. Most places just toss it on a flat top and call it a day, serving up bland, forgettable bites. But not here! The extra effort to lock in that smoky, juicy goodness didn’t go unnoticed. Huge kudos to the crew behind the grill! You’ve raised the bar.
