I love this place. When it comes to sushi I'm like a bottomless pit. A normal Japanese sushi place will charge per plate then I'm bankrupt. A Chinese buffett doesn't serve the japanese standard of sushi. This place is the best of both worlds during lunch. All you can eat and affordable. Also, its much easier to converse with people when you don't need to get up every 10min to the buffett.
Once I came during dinner and they have more variety and specialty items so it's still worth the price. Waiters have always been polite and attentive.

Its not Kyoto anymore. Don't look at the menu here. You will be very disappointed. Especially for takeout

We sat at a high table, it felt a little cramped and awkward.

My two daughters love Japanese food, so we often visit Japanese restaurants. We have been to Kyoto Sushi in Eagan several times, but unfortunately, our experience with the lady at the reception has been very disappointing. She is consistently unwelcoming and behaves as if customers are a burden rather than guests. When I tried to mention this to her politely, she raised her voice and said, “That’s just how I am.”
Having lived in Japan for over nine years, I know how warmly and respectfully Japanese people treat their customers—almost like gods. It’s unfortunate to see a restaurant using the Japanese name but showing such poor hospitality. If a true Japanese person saw how customers are being treated here, they would be shocked.

I'm writing this review from Japan while I'm on vacation eating sushi and honestly I just wish I was eating sushi in Eagan MN at Kyoto sushi instead.

First time there. It was two of us. We were greeted by friendly staff. The staff was helpful with our questions. The food was delicious. We ordered different items to try each other's orders. The flavor of all the entrées was on par. Definitely filling. Great for date night or family/friends gathering.
Highly recommend, the space could use a face-lift, but the lowish prices make sense.
They have all you can get buffet or order individual items. The food is hot and freshly made. You can watch your sushi rolls being made. The sweet potato rolls have crispy fried sweet potatoes and sticky moist rice. Highly recommend. The noodles are firm not mushy. The sauce on the noodles is right on. The chicken is moist, juicy and full of flavor.
Love this place. We come here regularly. Great quality sushi 🍣 👌
Love this place it's awesome for new and experienced sushi lovers

I love this place. However the bathrooms could use a cleaning and the portions of food are hard to follow. Sushi roll sizes change.

In a large group, it can take a bit for orders to be delivered. Recommend ordering before everyone arrives, and order multiple items at once.

Servers were friendly, but presumptuous. Not very gluten friendly, offered to put the sauce I couldn't eat on the side, even when I kept asking for no sauce and tamari instead.
The salad that came with dinner was drowning in dressing. The bottom of the serving bowl was entirely swamped by dressing. Inedible.
The katsu don description on the menu said it had spring onions, it came with regular onions which one person in our party cannot eat.
Not someplace we will return.
Dietary restrictions: They don't understand gluten free requests. They have tamari, but you have to ask multiple times for it. All other sauces are premade with regular gluten containing soy sauce.

The Philly roll has the perfect blend of smoked salmon with cream cheese. Tempura broccoli is a must eat. The BBQ eel fried rice is amazing. Salmon sashimi is always tasty. Treat yourself to a Volcano roll. End the meal with red bean & green tea ice cream.
Most things have avocado in them, but you can ask for it made without.
