Just a terrific coffee café and the owner, Dan, is a great guy......very knowledgeable on jazz music. The coffee and food are excellent and the atmosphere/ambiance is fantastic! Will definitely hit this place again!

Dan is an amazing owner! The breakfast sliders were amazing, the breakfast burritos were great, and the coffee's were perfect!
I really would expect to find a place like this in KC, Chicago or New Orleans with the atmosphere and decor.
This was definitely worth going off the beaten path for, and I will be specifically including a stop here on any trips to the UP in the future.

What a gem!!! Walking through these doors is like walking through a portal into the Seventies. The music and coffee are amazing, Dan is a phenomenal human being, and his dog, Kira, is the best mascot on earth!!!

Deeply intimate coffee shop in the middle of Elgin. Legitimately one of the most unique places I've been in ages.
I have been wanting to visit this cafe for so long and it’s surpassed my expectations! The overall vibe was very comforting and relaxing. Not to mention the drinks! I had an iced mocha and it was the right amount of sweetness! Absolutely recommend if you need to wind down, with a drink in hand, and listen to some tunes on your day off!

Ok…I’m from NYC and have been in a lot of cool places over the years, but this place beats them all hands down. That’s the truth. The Jazz Shepherd cafe does not try to be anything but itself and that’s why it works! Dan is such a great host and welcomes everyone into this amazing jazz space. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxing, and the menu is varied and interesting.
