Best Patty Melt. Onion rings are freshly battered. I wish they would use a brand name ketchup, like Heinz instead of the Sysco brand.
Service speed continues to be a concern. The atmosphere is okay. It's a bar setting.

I was told by the owner that I had to spend more than $20 to be welcome there! I never went there again!+! Wow what scummy liars!+! They said I was in there today and NO TRESSPASSING Orders must be signed by a judge to be legal!!!! And I was never in your dive today!+!!EVIL liar!+!LIAR!!! SEE ya in court!!! Better have proof!+!! Because I have proof and witnesses!+! Check your camera!+!SCUM!+! You don't have squat!+! and you will be paying my lawyer bill!+!! Liar!+!LIAR!! You and BonBon where not there today according to your lying staff. So put your camera where your lying mouth is!+! After a 10 mile bicycle ride on the Great River Ridge State Trail arriving in Elgin we decided to stop for lunch. The Blacktop Bar and Grill is mere steps located right on Main Street. Established in 2020, this family-owned and operated bar offers a place to eat, meet and greet locals with the usual fare of burgers, starters, salads, baskets and skillets, sandwiches and wraps. Open floor concept with the typical L shape bar, tables and chairs, a few flat screen TVs and an open window from the kitchen for food orders. After receiving our drinks and menus we soon ordered and being the place was nearly empty our order was soon for pickup. Placed on the open window and signaled by the chef with the dinging of the bell our Bacon Chicken Ranch Wrap and International Falls Salad sat. Our inattentive waitress remained at the bar conversing with the bartender and the two remaining patrons seated there. After a short time, one of our party got up and getting the attention of the waitress we received our food. Our wrap had a decent amount of chunky crispy chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato and Ranch dressing wrapped in a tortilla. All wraps, sandwiches and burgers come à la cart and sides come at a cost. We ordered a side of tator tots that came deep fried to a crisp. Overall good taste and simple presentation of food in a laidback atmosphere.
Parking: Located on Main Street one has plenty of options with street parking.

This place is absolutely 5 stars and more! We stopped in tonight with our little one and had a burger, some walleye & some drinks. Amazing food and our server Abby I think her name was amazing and super sweet girl. Idk why the bad reviews from some people, this place is great. Definitely will be coming back :)

I love our local bar and restaurant! Mike and Billie have turned what used to be old, run down place into a comfortable hang out to wind down after work, and I don't want to cook or clean up after establishment. They only hire the best people; they are kind and friendly. I am extremely grateful to have them apart of our community!
Vegetarian options: Blacktop offers vegetarian options, and they are clearly marked.
Dietary restrictions: They have a gluten free egg bun that is amazing. I couldn't tell the difference. The texture and taste is great!
First time stopping at The BlackTop today and was blown away by the food, drinks and atmosphere! I started with the loaded tots which were incredible and the Black Top Burger was AMAZING as well! Staff was friendly and they had bingo in the back which is always a plus! Will be back soon to try more of the food items!
