Perkins American Food Co.

I stopped into Perkins yesterday and had a great experience. The general manager was fun, attentive, and outgoing — he really added to the positive atmosphere. The restaurant was very clean and well-kept, and the overall vibe was welcoming with just a short wait time. To mention our server she had great energy and was very attentive. I will be coming back.

Top manager has been seen several times next door drinking with staff who work under him. That alone is very unprofessional.
Cameras up front don’t work so when needing to pay to leave you have to wait quite awhile or like several other customers go around to the kitchen and yell for help because there’s nobody up front.
This manager here from what I know does his job based on personal feelings and does not follow labor laws at all. Would never work under this guy he’s completely toxic.
Servers all seem friendly and hardworking except during the day. There’s a server who always seems annoyed and rude as though you’re just bothering her. Physical environment is usually okay.

Had to wait an hour for the food. The place was not busy. They had way too many to go orders, saw 3 groups of people walk out instead of staying. The cooks can not keep up with the to go orders and get the dining room orders out in a timely manner. The pancakes were not cooked in the middle and were raw and somehow overlooked on the edges. Service staff was pleasant and very friendly. Looks like Elk River Perkins is going downhill. I predicted it would close within a year from crappie food service waiting so long.

We used to like going here, but the last 3 or 4 times we have gone the food has been horrible and they changed rules on certain things also the last time they were all out of certain things like mashed potatoes and the manger told staff they weren't aloud to sub other sides for the menu items that normally came with mashed potatoes.

Needs a little updating but otherwise it was great

The cooks have so many take outs they don't have time to cook for those who come to the restaurant. Nobody was being seated, but tables and booths were empty.

They were very slow on bringing food out. Only had 3 flavors of pie, couple muffins and no soup.4 table ahead of us and took an hour to get our food. Server was amazing.

Great staff, food was on par for Perkins, honestly not the cheapest option for family meal but everyone left full.

We arrived at 7pm. Wait for a table wasn't long. We waited nearly 45 minutes for 2 dinners. Asked for pie and when served it was frozen. We ended up taking it home. We Heard another waitress say there was a 45 minute wait for food due to online ordering the entire hour and a half we were there. It would have been great if we were given the same courtesy. They were out of marinara, and several pies were out. It just isn't the Perkins we remembered (we haven't visited a Perkins for nearly 5 years).

A Midwest staple.. I didn't know I'd miss this place when I moved west. They have long been a favorite of seniors and families. You can't go wrong with the burger and fries.

Service is always efficient and friendly.

Reminder: Pay your check at the front and not with the waitress.
