Went in last night and sat at the bar. Bartender and waitress were too busy talking and ignoring customers. Had to flag her down to get our tab. The food is good but getting overpriced and the beer is way too expensive for what you get.

Sunshine Depot is just one of those places that always hits the spot. The vibe is laid-back, the people are friendly, and you can count on a good time every time you stop in. The bartenders and servers are awesome—super quick, always smiling, and they make you feel like part of the regular crowd right away.
The food? Always solid. Everything comes out hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Whether it’s burgers, wings, or whatever’s on special that day, you really can’t go wrong. And the beer—always ice cold. They definitely know how to pour one right.
What I really love, though, is how they support our local veterans, especially the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5518. You can tell they genuinely care about the community and the people who’ve served.
Overall, Sunshine Depot’s the kind of place you go to unwind, grab a bite, and hang out with good folks. It’s got that small-town, everyone-knows-your-name feel that’s getting harder to find these days. Definitely one of my favorite stops in Elk River.

My sisters and I met for lunch on Sunday, October 19th and had the best service ever!! The waiter was personable, witty and lots of fun!! He 100% made our day! Hold on to that guy for sure!

What we lacked in bloody Mary’s, we received in cheese bread. Unfortunately, we went for bloodys.
We called ahead to confirm they had the elaborate bloody Mary’s being raved about online. They confirmed. We arrived, and they said they only had standard bloodys, despite what we were told on the phone. We chose this place over a few other options due to proximity to our house, positive online reviews & the super cute location.
Overall, it was a perfectly fine place, but we left disappointed as we had been planning on getting these bloodys for days prior and feel like we ended up missing out on an experience we could’ve had elsewhere.
Can’t say we’ll never go back, but probably won’t go out of our way to end up there in the future.

On Saturday, we ordered a takeout order of broasted chicken. It was our first visit to the Sunshine Depot, but won't be the last. The chicken was perfectly broasted (not too oily) and it was very good. The bartender had taken my order by phone and told me to check in with her when I arrived. After getting to the location, I found a fairly packed place with a good vibe. I walked up the bar and the lady bartender asked if I was there to pickup a takeout chicken order. It takes 30 minutes to prepare, and it was ready when we arrived to pick it up. Great service and great food! We will be back!
