Lettuce was old & wilted.
Potatoes were not fresh baked.
Ribeyes thin & gristly.
Steak knives dull.
Bring a meat grinder.

Bought steak from here for $40. The steak was ordered WELL DONE but was RAW!!! When we returned the steak, the OWNER had no remorse for the insanely poor quality of the cooking and said $40 was not a lot of money for steak!! Well lady some of us are not business owners and are struggling in this economy!! Also for $40 I am pretty sure the steak should be perfect so don't talk to us about money!!!!! I will be reporting this restaurant to the Health Inspector and the Attorney General because the steak could have made me super sick!!!! I don't recommend going to this restaurant or trusting them to make your food.

Food is great and plentiful but you do have to stand in line to order and while it's grilling but believe me, it's worth it and it becomes part of the experience.

Update!! 4-22-26
Don’t know what happened again. Yesterday was the second time I got dried out very tough ribs that were obviously way precooked and sat in a warmer overnight or something. Hate to give a bad review but just being honest and hope they fix this problem! They used to be my favorite and that’s why I went there. Definitely will not go back for the ribs. Sure do miss Pete being there!

Oh my what a feast!!! Best barbecue ribs around and what a price! Can’t beat it! You better be hungry when you go there! Steaks are awesome, burgers are awesome and everything else as well! Lunch special- steak, baked potato, Texas toast and soup or salad for $4.75! Piece of pie for desert $1.75! So $6.50 for a kick butt meal. Google their menu and see if he prices! Then imagine a steak twice the size of the usual you get eating out. If you leave hungry it’s definitely your own damn fault!! Enjoy people! I always do!!

Drove down from Lakeville on a Tuesday, and it was worth the trip. Got the sirloin special and their steak burger — both were fantastic. Steak cooked exactly how I asked, baked potato was perfect, and even the salad was solid. The steak burger might be one of the best I've had in the metro.

Everyone working was super friendly, and it felt family-run in the best way. Will absolutely be back.

This place only accepts cash and checks, no debit cards and no credit cards can be used.

On a road trip with friends, one of the friends encouraged us to have dinner here. She described the place as a dive but assured us the food was good. It was crowded when we showed up and the wait in line was longer than expected. The food is served cafeteria style - you take a tray and place your order with the people behind the counter and receive your food as you move down the line. The menu is very simple and straightforward. I ordered the ribeye, medium rare, and eventually received some sort of beef with a fair amount of connective tissue, no thicker than half an inch, and well done. The baked potato was very tasty and served with easily a quarter cup of butter, the Texas toast was well done, the salad has spent a bit too much time in the fridge, and the side order of baklava that I requested was passable.

We all agreed that the great characteristic of a dive is that you will either have the best meal of your life or something that really is less than you had hoped for. This is a classic dive.

It is what it is. Nothing fancy, a steak and potato type of place.
Overall it is a good stop.

The steaks are thin, but marinated and tasty, comes with potatoe/salad or beef barley soup and can add fried shrimp too. Very outdated atmosphere, but the food kinda makes up for the long drive- recommended!!
