I was there tonight, Gina was my server. She gave excellent service! Went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my meal. Plus the manager also checked in with us. I had lobster and shrimp linguine and my boyfriend had jerk platter, both were delicious!

This was our second time visiting this wonderful restaurant, with many years in between. Last time we came, it was in January 2019 during a bitterly cold winter. We were heading to Giant's Ridge to snowshoe. Coming from Hudson, WI, I had googled places to eat near there. The Whistling Bird came up. It was so appealing to enter a Caribbean themed bar and restaurant when you are feeling most despondent about the temps. Fast forward 5 years, and this time we were heading to Giant's Ridge for Oktoberfest activities. Completely different temps, low 80s, but my husband and I remembered the most welcome time we had at this place years earlier. We stopped there on the way for dinner, had an excellent meal (he had the jerk pork, and I had the jerk chicken), and enjoyed a couple fun cocktails before heading the short distance to "the ridge." The bartender even humored my husband and made him a most enjoyable Rum Old-Fashioned.

I have heard about this place for years. In such a tiny town, people would allegedly come up from the twin cities just to eat here. Whether that's legend or truth, I can attest that the food was 100% worth the drive. Absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious. If you ever have the opportunity, I suggest you stop in for a taste.

We arrived late and were their last customers of the day but the staff treated us so good, as if we were old friends! The drinks were very very good and the food arrived in perfect time and was FANTASTIC! The cook (,or chef), came out later and checked on how we liked our meal! It was so much fun!

Food was delicious! I got the Jerk platter, bartender recommended. All items were good. I did swap out the rice and peas for mashed sweet potatoes. Waitress was great, Skye was her name. I posted a video. Good vibes, just what I needed after riding 67 miles on the mesabi trail. Worth stopping in if you're in the area. On a side note, bartender let me store my bike inside, thanks!

Wow! This place is great. Everything was delicious - we tried “sushi Sunday” and the poke bowl was great. Coconut shrimp was to die for.
Service was super friendly, the decor was very festive. Our 6 year old said they “felt like we’re on an island”. We’ll be back again when we’re in town!!
