This month is my wife’s birthday, so I decided to start the celebration by inviting her to a restaurant from her country. We went to the Peruvian restaurant K'kinaco Nikkei & Pisco Bar where the service and atmosphere were very warm from begining to end. While we were enjoying the exquisite food, Chef Enrique came over to say hello and have a short and pleasant chat with us. K'kinaco is an authentic and delightful culinary experience.
My mother is from Lima and it had been years since I found genuine Peruvian cuisine in the U.S. (outside of her kitchen). Enrique, the co-owner, met with us and told us the story of the restaurant and his family's experience coming from Peru (his father was the head chef working that night). I brought my fiancee and her mother and together, we sampled some delicious ceviche and nikkei offerings....

The food was delish! The base sauce in the Ceviche was very flavorful, and it brought out many savory tastes in the various portions of whitefish, roasted corn, & sweet potato. Additionally, our friendly server, Jake, was very helpful in explaining menu items and recommending house specialities and traditional drinks. Thanks, Farmer Jake!
