One of my favorite breakfast spots! Cahill Diner is a small, cozy place that consistently delivers amazing food and friendly service. The pancakes have that perfect buttermilk flavor — fluffy and rich without being too sweet. The chicken fried steak is one of the best I’ve had, with meaty gravy and hash browns cooked to perfection.
My boyfriend tried the Cajun breakfast with andouille sausage, and it was fantastic! Great spice balance — flavorful and a little kick, but not overwhelming. The sausage was sliced thin and cooked perfectly.
The staff really make this place special. When we visited, the diner was packed and they had a ton of online orders, but the auntie-and-niece duo working the floor handled everything like pros. They even dealt gracefully with a rude delivery driver who came in blasting music — stayed polite but firm, keeping the atmosphere comfortable for everyone.
Even with all the chaos, the cooks and servers kept things running smoothly and served up hot, delicious plates without missing a beat. It’s easy to see why Cahill Diner has such a loyal following — great food, great people, and a real hometown diner feel. Highly recommend!

I’ve only been in Minnesota a little over a year and I’ve been wanting to stop in but didn’t until today. My initial thought was “ It’s so tiny! Then I was greeted with a big smile and a friendly welcome and I fell in love. The food and service were great!

I had the Minnesota Rancher w/sausage patties. I couldn't eat the sausage. I had one bite and my gut churned. It wasn't raw but it was mushy, not the texture of fried sausage patties. It actually looked like it had been boiled, not browned like normal. I ate the eggs and hash browns. I complained about the sausage and $5 was knocked off the bill. Been coming here for years after golf when I can. We live in Oakdale area. My wife's meal was perfect. I don't feel that this was safe sausage for anyone and feel we kinda got rushed out. I know we're not coming here anymore.

Small but perfect. I NEVER order paoched eggs. But couldn't help myself, the Thursday special 🤯. Everything I wanted. Perfectly poached egg. Going back for more! Hope I can order it every day!! 🥰

Always a great experience, excellent breakfast place
Food and atmosphere was good but for me to order take out and told it will be ready in 15 mins and I got there in about 20 mins and paid and waited another 15 mins and I had to ask them I had to go and the whole time food was sitting on the counter cold. The two girls that was serving today didn’t seem to care for customer service. No sorry we made you wait no thank you. Just put the food on the counter and left. Do better, hire people that want to serve your paying customers with good customer service.
