Have been going here 50 years back since Orr’s owned it: We love the food. Rarely will I get frustrated and 9 out of 10 times offer grace. I do understand busy. Absolutely 💯 is no excuse for the 20 minutes to get drinks ordered an omelet and a burger and a side salad 45 minutes later I asked for my salad. 45 more minutes I had paid and went to the car called in and let them know this is bad and at least the 3rd time this massive wait to get served my family finally came out 2 hours after we ordered 1 burger 1 omelet 1 side salad it was cold the waiter rolling her eyes tells my wife. They didn’t have time to fing put their food in a to go box in which they asked. I said leave the plate take the burger and run before you get stuck waiting for the to go box. While when the first 3 times I still tipped well over the bill. There might not be a next time. I’m sure like a lot of people up here for a weekend visit don’t need to sit handcuffed for a meal that small.
Alex is a great bartender! The french fries are the best I've ever had!!!

Went out of castaway to go ice fishing. And they do not maintain their bridges well. We completely destroyed our tailgate and the receiver hitch. Waiting to see if there is any structural damage. When I told the lady/ manager on the phone about the situation- she hung up on me. No ounce of sympathy whatsoever. And we found out that 3 other people had the same thing happen.
Pick a different resort!

Nice place. We stopped in for a drink and a snack. We had cheese curds. They were very good they came with ranch and marinara sauce which was different and very good. The portion was great plenty for 2.

RESPONSE: Again, you have to stop going right to calling people liars. This was a couple weeks ago, Friday night. I spoke to who I believe is your wife up at the bar first while things were transpiring. Then you came up to us as we were leaving wearing a plad looking shirt. My father identified you as the owner and greeted you. After my group left I stayed and spoke with you for a minute which is when you asked for my number. I gave you my charter captain business card. 95 Five Fishing. At the end of our conversation I asked you how would you want to be treated if roles were reversed. You then said you'd call. We left around 9 or a few minutes after that Friday. We arrived around 6:35-6:40 I believe
The ONLY reason this is not a one star is because of the history. We have been going here for as long as I can remember. Since change of ownership things have not been good.
I'll just sum up our last visit because that sums up what has been happening as of late.
Our visit from arrival to departure took just under two and a half hours. Yes, we were a larger party. 9 people so I understand things will take a little longer naturally. No, we did not take our time to order. Our order was simply not taken for a long time and once placed took one and a half hours for us to get our food. Just getting our drinks took a very long time. It's tough when you see other tables getting their stuff.
Now I fully understand staffing issues and I understand much of the staff moved on from there since ownership changed but you cannot use that as an excuse. Customers don't want excuses. They want the owner to just own it.
The parts of this that frustrate me the most are this....
When I talked to ownership/management about it in a VERY nice way, not one harsh word or elevated tone, they both told me they would check the camera to see if that's how long it really took. Do you understand that you're basically calling me a liar when you say that? You're gonna check the camera to make sure I arrived when I said I did and got the food when I said I did? You don't tell that to someone you just go and do that. And hopefully you did go and look and find out I was telling the truth but then what? No follow up... And not a single discount on our bill? $300 bill not even a free drink? We drank more because we had to wait so long for the food.
I don't have unreasonable standards. Just take ownership of the mistakes. It's not the staffs fault, it's yours. You're the owner. Whether the staff messes up or not they are YOUR staff. And don't accuse me of lying. And give someone a freaking discount when service is atrocious. Discount, apology without excuses, we will do better next time. That's how it works in the food industry. Also, this is not the only bad outing there for us as of late otherwise I would have not said anything.
Good spot, great drinks

I'd give it a negative 10,000 stars if possible. First and last time there. All around GROSS - stinky bathrooms, horrible service, EXPENSIVE & took over an hour to get the lunch special. Too many complaints to try to explain. Never going back...
Glad we never got served, the prices are insane.

My wife and I dined on Saturday night and had the prime rib special. It was excellent and so were the au gratin potatoes and the service. We have dined there multiple times this summer and found the food and service excellent. Well done.

My brother and I stopped in here for the first time this morning and were seriously blown away. The wings were absolutely incredible, crispy, flavorful, and easily some of the best we’ve ever had. The bar itself has a great vibe, perfect mix of laid back and lively. Huge shoutout to Alex!! He was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Your one response to the reviews posted by my family, is seriously inaccurate and untrue -we were only kind and patient to our server - tipping her 30% on past visits, seeing how overwhelmed and distraught she was. We all felt sorry for her .
She did her best on all occasions , considering that , as she shared with us , she was the only waitstaff for the entire dining room, on a Sunday , fourth of July weekend !
It is clear that customer service is not a priority.
Saying that other patrons were complaining about our table is also untrue. In reality they were all commenting, out loud , about the ridiculous staffing - one person to serve the entire place. They were expressing concern for the server as she was visibly upset to the point of tears.
Not one of our complaints is aimed at the overwhelmed waitstaff-they are directed at the unprofessional owner. Complaining to us that you were slammed is not an excuse for rudeness and lying.
You should be thanking folks for their patience and understanding, not aggressively questioning customers , sarcastically asking if they have anything they’d like to say ? Or CAN I HELP YOU ? - 😡 while pointing an accusing finger.
Suggestion -hire additional people, treat your patrons with respect-
treat your servers with respect. Be kind.
Do not fabricate stories to explain away multiple bad reviews.
Worst dining experience of my life. New ownership is unprofessional. Servers are crying every time we go there. Owner (Jenny) interrogated my mother (who gave her too long of look apparently) had just completed chemo and was celebrating her first dinner post treatment. Owner Jenny instructed her husband Hal to “get us out now!”. Sad and disappointing as we are frequent patrons who bring our entire family there for dinner frequently. GO TO NITTI’S instead.
