What’s up with your choc chip cookies?! They’re the best I’ve ever had kudos for the softness too. Everopendoor.com
Recently catered an event where food was average and extremely overpriced.
First of all I would like to say that the food was very good. This review does not reflect the quality of the food but the conduct of the owners. We had a dispute on our wedding day about whether or not Omar's Kitchen should have provided a vegetarian entree. We interpreted emails as Omar's Kitchen agreeing to provide a vegetarian entree. On our wedding day when we asked where the vegetarian option was they told us we would have needed to provide them a number of vegetarians. However, they never asked how many vegetarians we would have. This would not have been so bad, after all mistakes happen. Except when we confronted them about this they became agitated and hostile. Omar simply wrote that there would be a veggie option. He did not inquire about a number. We also had a question about dessert pricing that went ignored.

Here is the exchange I had with Omar in regards to a vegetarian option. I will put the emails in their entirety so as to not omit anything. I will only be including relevant emails, as a lot of our back and forth was irrelevant to this situation. First I email this: Hi Omar, Thanks for subbing the pork for chicken. We really appreciate it! We had a couple more questions that we thought of. First, do you rent out linens for the tables? And second, we realized that we will be having some vegetarians coming to the wedding. Would we be able to add on a vegetarian option? We of course will be willing to pay for the extra food. Thanks so much! David Kesler and Leighann Wagner Omar responds with: We know longer do linens. We will offer a vegetarian option. Thanks, Lori & Omar I respond with: Ok. Thanks so much for the info! That is the extent of the communication in regards to vegetarian options. As you can see, they did not inquire about how many vegetarians we had. I may have been naive, but I assumed this meant a vegetarian entree. Since we had already done the tasting there would be no need for me to confirm that the side dishes were vegetarian. We also ordered some appetizers that were vegetarian but that was much later after these emails were sent, so I obviously wasn't asking about those. We had never worked with a caterer before and assumed they had our backs and took this email as confirmation. It should not be incumbent upon clients to know how their business operates. If they needed to know the number of vegetarians, they, the professional caterers, should have asked. I offered to show Lori the above emails and she responded with something along the lines of: I believe that conversation had already been had! and would not look at them. We felt humiliated and treated with rudeness and contempt. It made us seem as though we had forgotten some of our guests. Also, another issue. When we determined that our guest count would be around 100 as opposed to the larger number we initially gave them, they sent us an email informing us that we would need to pick fewer desserts. I asked if there would be a difference in price for four desserts instead of six and I was completely ignored! Here are the relevant emails. I ask: We don't remember which ones we picked. Can you please send us the choices we made so we can decide? Also, is the price the same for 4 desserts rather than 6? Their response: It at the bottom of the menu you have I responded with: Got it. Thanks. We will omit the Italian cream cake and omit the cherry pie. As you can see the question I had about price was utterly discarded by them. I chose to just let it go because our wedding was in ten days and I had bigger things on my mind but I do find it to be grossly unprofessional. Their response to these complaints was this: We always require a deposit to hold the date. (They asked us to provide a deposit before we tasted the food, I agreed but only after getting a guarantee that we would receive the deposit back if we didn't like it. And I had to fight for that guarantee) I am terribly sorry that I missed y
My husband and I got married 2 weeks ago. Omar and his wife Lori catered for our wedding of about 100 guests. They provided great tasting food however they did not deliver all menu items requested. We had requested a vegetarian option for our guests and they did not provide it. We had several guests who are vegetarian and we felt so bad because we thought Omar would provide an entree in addition to what we had already approved. We sat down to dinner and started to eat when I

We had requested a vegetarian option for our guests and they did not provide it. We had several guests who are vegetarian and we felt so bad because we thought Omar would provide an entree in addition to what we had already approved. We sat down to dinner and started to eat when I asked my husband if he saw a vegetarian option on the Buffett table and he had not. We asked his wife Lori and she rudely tried to pass the appetizer items we had requested as the extra vegetarian option when we had discussed the appetizers separately. The food is great, however make sure you thoroughly follow up on questions with them and ask for clarification. They ignored our questions. She also changed our desert menu from 6 items to 4 items without reducing the costs which I thought was unfair. We had never dealt with a caterer before and thought we were in good hands. We had such a bad experience with them and I usually don’t do reviews but how we were treated was not right. My husband emailed them today to tell them we thought they were unprofessional and very rude and they responded very rudely. Be careful if you decide to pick this vendor. I wish I we would’ve went with someone else.
We tried the Morning Glory muffins and the Jalapeño Cheddar bread. Both an excellent choice! Delicious! Wish we lived closer.

Excellent food and service. We were at a class reunion this weekend and their food really added to a great evening.
We just had Omar’s cater our wedding. They did an amazing job. Our guest loved the food. Everything tasted great. The dessert selection was lovely. Special request such as vegan was received and looked great! Thanks so much. Jenni & Jaye
Omar’s catered our wedding on June 8th, 2019 The food from Omar’s is simply the best you can get! Great people and very quick service. We did a family style dinner which everyone really enjoyed. Then we ended the night with the famous dessert bar!! So good and I highly recommend Omar’s for your wedding!
