What a lovely experience at Sophie's Ice Cream on my short trip to Kerk! Our group of 7 ordered a variety of items.. cones, floats, and shakes. The employee working was very friendly and she completed our order quickly. It was delicious. I imagine this is a great gathering spot for the community on the hot summer days. Well be sure to come back next time.
This place is in a tiny town on Minnesota's prairie. The ice cream is Kemp's brand, so it's good quality. The ice cream shakes, sundaes and cones have limited flavor offerings, but I understand that this isn't in a huge area or along a beach. Service was nice. The highlight is the building itself. I think it was a gas station back in the day, and the building had retained the charm. So cute!
Open Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Open from 11 am to 9 pm daily. Ice cream, sundaes and malts and floats. Rotating ice cream means vanilla and chocolate ice cream are always available but the varieties of special flavors change. Maple nut, birthday cake, Rocky road, pecan praline are some of the specialty flavors. Cookies are also available. Sophie's is located in an old brick gas station with a vintage tinned ceiling.
