I normally visit a place a few times before I write one of these, but I was compelled after the experience I had. Heard a lot of good things about this spot from friends, so we picked it as our spot for a birthday dinner with family. Had a reservation and got right in. Staff was very friendly from the start.We sat down and ordered some drinks and appetizers. Three of us had Bloody Mary's and none of us cared for them. If you like them very watery and thin you might like them, they weren't for us. Had some of the "smoked" wings and they were okay, but I really don't think they were smoked. Not an ounce of smoke flavor and quite crunchy, which is a good thing, but ate very much like a deep fried wing. I feel it's important to add here that the staff was still amazing.The entrees came next and out of seven of us there was one mistake and my wife received the wrong dish. They took it back and made it right, but she had to eat a little after the rest of us. When she did receive her dish (Miso Salmon) it was very good. I had the "smoked" ribeye. This unfortunately was NOT good. I ordered medium rare. I'm not sure how they did this but half of it was rare and the other half medium. I don't mind a steak on the rare side so I went ahead at ate it, once again no smoke flavor and the sear was a bit too much, very tough to get through. Potatoes and asparagus were okay. The real problem came almost immediately after when I began to have major stomach aches. There was definitely something that did not agree with me, and I spent the rest of the evening in a very uncomfortable state. I might give them another chance down the road a bit, but only because the service was excellent. Hats off to the staff, they are what kept this night out from being a total bust for me. I hope the next time I visit it goes a bit better. Our community needs more restaurants like this one.

Surprisingly loud music for a little cafe, especially in the morning. Even the local dive bar doesn't have the music cranked up so high. Wait staff is really friendly.

it’s so good, but their new menu has taken at least nine things off. It was already a little bit light in terms of content and variety, so even harder to find something I'm in the mood for. Hopefully they can add a few more items back soon. Two of the items that are not as good or their flatbread with their premade dough and their chicken wings have great flavor and are cooked well, but the quality of the chicken just isn’t there. interestingly the chips that come with their spinach artichoke dip are perfect and some of the best tortilla chips around.

Although I’ve had several different meals I’ve enjoyed at this restaurant over the past year or so, my experience at tonight’s dinner left me wanting. Don’t get me wrong, the quality of the food was first rate. My order of Short Rib Rigatoni was very tasty but for $22.00, I would have expected more. Everything else is ala carte, so to get a side salad, it was another $5 or so. I would have expected a side of bread, or at least a roll, but none was offered.I know it’s a small place but that also makes it a noisier venue. If you’re looking for nice atmosphere, think about another place.

This was our first time here, and we will be back. The Americanos were great, and the food was delicious!Parking: The Better Half doesn't have its own parking lot, but there is free street parking and free lots nearby. We were able to find a spot a block away.
