A nostalgic atmosphere. Great customer service! Home made quality food priced very reasonable! My husband and I come here often. We don't have a restaurant in our town with this quality.

If you're not going to be open the hours you publish on Google, please change them. We drove out of our way to have breakfast only to find the restaurant closed well into their published open hours.

Great experience! Very reasonable pricing on burgers and fries on a Thursday. They even have a nice selection of ice cream!

Food was wonderful! It did take awhile to come out but was worth the wait. It was pretty busy being just right after church got out. The atmosphere was typical of a little mom and shop place our table was missing ketchup, not sure if your supposed to request it, or if it was just missing. Easy fix though was able to grab one off the next table over! The server was super attentive and really sweet! She was able to keep up with two crazy coffee drinkers. They have a great 99c burger night which is almost unheard of even in a small town nowadays.

We moved to this area about 12 years ago and not long after came across the Home Plate restaurant. We ate there one afternoon and the food was particularly not very good so we vowed to never go back. 12 years later, after passing the place by millions of times knowing it wasn't worth stopping there, we decided to go there one day for breakfast because it was convenient on our way out of town. Not expecting anything good - we were surprised and impressed with our meal and service and vowed that we would try it again soon. We've been there many times in the past 5 months and every time we've left very happy and sure we would be back soon. The chili and soup are always excellent no matter what kind. They have delicious daily specials. Everything is always fresh and very good, including the service - so friendly and attentive! If it's lunch time, my husband usually orders a burger with fries which he likes a lot and he's very picky. Today we stopped at The Lions Tap for burgers. After a few bites he said the burgers & fries were BETTER AT HOME PLATE - I was shocked because he's always really liked Lions Tap burgers and always said the burgers there are better than Matt's Bar in Minneapolis which is where I think they're the best. I haven't had a burger at Home Plate yet but I must agree, the fries are better at Home Plate. In fact, the fries are better at Home Plate than most other places oddly enough. Not sure how they pull that off. I am now planning to order a burger at Home Plate and compare it with Lions Tap and Matt's myself. I will update my review after this event shortly. Breakfast is always very good. You can tell the food is definitely "home made" quality and not from pre-made frozen. The ambiance is old timey comfortable, which I like. It's more like 5 and dime, not upscale but I like it nonetheless. We appreciate having this great restaurant so close to home where there aren't a lot of options.

Surprisingly good at ok prices. We've been eating through their menu about once/ week. Every meal has been good. Top notch burgers, top notch breakfasts, possibly the best decent food at decent prices within 30 miles. By comparison to say, Lions tap, far better at home plate at comparable prices. Breakfasts on par with Etlins. Wish they were open more hours.
