This is the first time we have been to Benihana in quite some time. We were greeted by a sign on the door saying that there is a 20% service charge for people sitting at the tables that they make the food in front of you and that it is not a gratuity! Luckily we had a gift card and birthday voucher because for the two of us without drinks it was $150... The service and food were outstanding. We will not come to Benihana anymore if we have to pay full price, it is outrageous.

We have gone using our birthday coupons for YEARS, and I think this is the last time we will be doing it. The prices are getting higher and higher, and unfortunately - the service is not at the level we would expect for the price. They were short or behind on chefs, so our chef did not come until 1 hour after we sat. The Chef was nice and made great food - BUT there was no communication from the mgmt about the delay. Our server gave me notice about the delay, but only to me - not to the entire table, and there where two other parties sitting there that I had to relay the message to. The manager was asked, by another at our table, for something to compensate us for the very long wait - and we got 20% off, which basically was deleted because of the automatic gratuity. We were asked to add more gratuity by the server, which we were not. The foot was great - everything else was substandard. I also think that there needs to be more servers. Our drinks should be refilled more often and the plates bussed quicker. If the price were lower, I would probably not be as particular, but at the price it was (for two adults and two kids with NO drinks, the cost was over $160 and that was WITH the birthday coupon). Nope - not going again. Not worth the price at the level of staffing.

The show that you come from wasn't really there. Very disappointing as we came for son's birthday. Was told that MOA or Kobe offers better experience. Food was way salty but to be expected with hibachi.

The food was good, the service was great. I really do not like that they add 20% if you sit where they prepare the food in front of you. I thought that was the main reason to go there. We sat in the bar to avoid the $68 fee as we've seen the "show" several times.

I've been going to Benihana for my birthday for at least 15 years. I always order the same entree. This year I was shocked that the price for the entree had increased by at least 70%. I still ordered it because I figured that the price of food in general had increased dramatically in the past year. However, I was disappointed when the quality of food had decreased. The food didn't taste as good as it usually does. Some of the grilled veggies were mushy and the rest of the food wasn't as flavorful as it has been in the past. In addition, the ice cream wasn't fresh. It was crunchy from the ice chips in it. For the increased price we paid for the food, I was expecting to get the same quality that I had gotten in the past. Finally, we have always had our picture taken to commemorate my birthday. That didn't happen this year. It was a very disappointing experience.

This restaurant adds a 20% service charge to the bill that is NOT the tip. You are expected to tip the staff on top of that. This is now illegal in MN but they are doing it anyway and they don't make it at all clear so my poor Mom who paid, didn't realize this and generously tipped on top of this outrageous service charge. And our service wasn't even very good. 7 of us and the bill was over $700?! We each had one drink. I will never eat here again.

The Buffalo all experience what's good. However, we had 7 people at the table. I came with a twenty percent tip but then another woman who was giving us drink said we had to keep her another fifteen percent because the twenty percent didn't include her, so we spent over seven hundred dollars, that's a hundred dollars a person, and we just ordered soda accept for two people who ordered one drink. This is way too expensive. As I was thinking about sixty dollars a person, I will never go back because it's vary list meeting when you have to pay a twenty percent tip and then a fifteen fifteen percent tip on top of that, I will never go back

Our chef Hector was very enthusiastic and entertaining. He engaged with everyone while cooking and the jokes with the food were hilarious. Our server Shari was amazing with keeping drinks filled and taking away empty dishes. She also sang happy birthday to me alone. Her singing was amazing! We will definitely come back.

We had a 6 pm reservation at the Maple Grove location and did not get seated until 6:30 pm and there were many other groups in the same position. They need to get a handle on scheduling.
Always a great stop for a special occasion and meal 😋

This experience was so awesome. My family celebrated 2 birthdays here. Dawn, our server, and Ricardo, our chef, made our dinner very special. It was so fun! And the salmon was delicious!!!
