We decided to try this place after being told at OPH an hour wait, we should have just gone home lol, the food was so bad, dry and burnt, coffee was disgusting, the booth was not cleaned had crumbs everywhere and service was so slow! Please don’t go!!

It was very average. It kind of felt like granite city employees maybe don't have their diner legs yet/all the tools they need to serve diner quality.

Service was a bit slow. Both wait staff and kitchen. Coffee was not ready (we arrived around 10am.) Coffe was awkwardly served prefilled instead of empty cups set onto table and then poured. Cream came in weird little cups. Just not your standard diner experience like you would have had at village inn. Kinda just feels like granite city trying to cook village inn's menu.

Should have turned around from our first interaction..

Whatever this dual restaurant concept is not exactly clear to those new to the area. Walk in to what we thought was a breakfast spot and looks like a bar on the inside. We thought we walked into the wrong place for a moment and was met with a snide remark from the hostess. Go figure they probably get that reaction often.

The food was so bad. Flavorless, butter had to been unsalted, pancakes were dense and tasted burnt, eggs were dry. Sausage patties had decent flavor but the links had a ton of gristle in them.

I would have given this a 1 star if it weren’t for the server who seemed like they were giving it their best. Other staff was not impressive, no one even had decency to wait for my pregnant wife to walk up/down the stairs.

I would steer clear, there are so many better options around here.

First time visiting and the service was amazing.
And the food is 10 out of 10.
I highly recommend village inn to eat breakfast or lunch. I don’t drink alcohol but it seems people are enjoying their time here. It’s busy place but it worth waiting for it.

We went on a Saturday around 11 am, but unfortunately had to end up leaving before even eating.

We had a party of 4, with 3 children (none of which required boosters or special seating). We put our name on the list, and were quoted 10 minutes. We waited 25 minutes, where we were skipped over numerous times while other groups of 4 that came in after were seated. They also had no reservation/joined the wait list, only difference was no children.

After this, we gave up and left

Food is generally good except for biscuits and gravy. The gravy is fine, but the biscuits are generally stale and hard. I like going there so I just don't order biscuits! Service is generally good and we prefer a booth in the bar.

We had a great breakfast, the Server Benjamin was great and very attentive. It was busy, but we got a table in the bar area right away. The banana cream french toast was delicious. We'll definitely be back, and I recommend the Village Inn.

Food was great and fresh, service was the best for a packed house. My daughter had a great time watching silly shows while the game was playing and bottomless mimosas. Can't beat it.

Make reservations ahead of time. Don't listen to Google.

NOT a full-service Village Inn - EXTREMELY limited.pie selection, limited menu, and they property (building and grounds) are disasters from the parking lot shared entrance with Redstone to the pot holes and trip hazards, to the horribly stupid 'lobby' that is a 10x10 box that they use for both host station and take-out desk.

Dining room is no better as you have to go through the noisy bar to get anywhere. This whole place is a disaster. There are dozens of better options in MG, including Perkins, which is generally blah at best.

AVOID THIS PLACE
