Hot tub was broken and that was the reason we booked the room in the first place. Jacuzzi was dirty with hair in it.
Other than that, breakfast had a good selection and room service from the Mermaid was great! Pool was heated well, which made swimming more enjoyable. Building is currently under rennovation

It’s like a home away from home. Even with the construction.

Service and location is excellent, employees are extremely friendly. A little bug was trying to wander into the hot tub and while filming the bug I noticed the trash left under the bed. For $170 for this room I do expect a bit better attention but overall the stay wasn’t terrible.
Nearby activities: Bowling, restaurant, and bar nearby at the Mermaid.

Always a 1st option when I am in the area or stopping for the night to continue on. Never a bad experience!

The door to the room wasn't fitted properly allowing for anyone with a credit card to brake in not very secure. When you're in the room at night look at the door jam it's wide open

The fact this place is open for (full price) business while undergoing significant and disruptive construction is wild.
I came here a few years ago and LOVED my jacuzzi room. Total 5 star experience. I came back on 10/1 (Room 208) eager for a repeat. My, how things changed.
First, the jacuzzi barely -- BARELY -- made the surface bubble. Like, maybe if you squinted. It was more of a... glorified water massager? Weak.
Then, I was woken up at 8am by hammering but it was also giving "we know this is a little early so we're trying to be light handed with it". It lasted maybe 15 minutes. Then sporadic miscellaneous construction noises until 10am when they really let loose. (So your checkout is effectively at least an hour earlier unless you like hanging around construction sites.)
As I left, I made the mistake of trying to use the ice machine directly adjacent from the most godawful drilling you've ever heard. Guy was in full gear in a cloud of dust. He had ear protection. I wish I did because even my fifteen second? exposure made my ears ache.
In its current state I believe AmericInn is only worth the trouble for a discount and some complimentary ear protection.

When I booked our reservation I requested a main floor room. My husband has severe back and hip pain making it hard for him to walk, stand even sit. I did not explain this in the request, didn't think I needed to. Unfortunately, on arrival we find that we are booked into room 315. We gave it a try. Very difficult. Long walk to get to the elevator, hard for him standing in the elevator and another long walk down the hall to the room. I left him sitting on the bed and returned to the front desk. I explained our problem in more detail than the simple request for a main floor room during the initial request while booking. The registering agent at the front desk looked and found there were NO rooms available on the main floor. I explained that I had made this request when booking the room. She then reached out the to General Manager who was available in house. After explaining to him the importance of needing a main floor room and that I had requested it when booking he began to review the possibilities of switching rooms. He found that I had indeed made this request at the time of booking. That made me feel better about my pursuit of a main floor room. After a few minutes of his searching for a room that would be a good switch he did manage to give us a room on the main floor. He was soft spoken and fully understanding of our need. He was very reassuring and a great example of leadership. The room was super clean and well supplied with amenities. Another wonderful thing was the breakfast. It had the usual foods found in a hotel breakfast with the exception of the quality. The quality of these foods went way above and beyond the normal. EVERYTHING was fresh. Hot when it was suppose to be hot and cold where it should be cold. EVERYTHING!!! The hostess was on top of making sure everything was well supplied and fresh. Tables were cleaned foods and coffee replenished. She literally ran her butt off doing this with a smile on her face. We did give her a tip each morning for her dedication to her job. REMINDER: Giving the food prep/server a generous tip should be automatic at a hotel IF the quality of food and service is demonstrated to be above and beyond, as it was at this hotel. As well as leaving a tip to housekeeping for a well cleaned and supplied room. Show your appreciation to people who do a good job serving YOU.
A GREAT place to stay: Reasonably Priced, Clean, Great Service, Easy Location, Great Communication. My Thank You to each and everyone of the team that made us comfortable during our stay.
