They served our wedding of 275 people for an affordable price and the guests loved it. Great food and great service, would highly reccomend!
We love when Velvet Touch caters here!
A big thank you for the delicious food and exceptional service for our work event! Sarah was great to work with and she had everything set up, maintained, and cleaned so nicely! Hard worker and very personable! Received numerous compliments on the food. Thank you Jon! Loved the seasoning on the hamburgers and the chicken was moist and tasted so good! The sides, dessert, and Lau’s buns made the meal just perfect! Also, our gluten free person loved the bread (said she never had a bun taste so good and not fall apart). Highly recommend for personal or professional events!
Had Velvet Touch cater for our wedding...received many complimets on the food! We had Pork loin with baked potatoes and corn on the cob! Everyone loved the corn and there ability to dip them in butter and add parmesan cheese! Also that there was jalapenos and onions available to add to the pork! We highly recommend them! Staff was great, very friendly and HELPFUL!! Communication was easy and responded right away, was also able to text back and forth when needed!
Velvet Touch catered my Son's wedding.
Very appealing food. Plenty of food provided for the appetizers. The meatball marinara dish was a hit. The vegetable lasagna was also very good. The Ceaser salad was "Over the Top" and the wedding guests loved it. Really good communication with the staff at Velvet Touch. Keep them in mind to meet your catering needs.
Communication with Jon and the Velvet Touch staff was not always the easiest, but their food made up for it. Our wedding guests were genuinely impressed with the BBQ and could not stop talking about the food all night long! Along with the fantastic food, the reasonable pricing and the fact that we got to keep all the leftovers made Velvet Touch's catering a success in our wedding experience.
Being a big Taco Tuesday connoisseur Velvet Touch Taco Bar was 10/10, so many options for those that have food restrictions. Planning a wedding out of state and not being able to taste test the food before having it at our wedding, we were VERY PLEASED with the outcome. Nothing but positive comments and empty plates from all our wedding guests. Would recommend!
We were considering velvet touch for our wedding because it had come recommended from our venue. We were originally very excited and intrigued by their upfront pricing and menu selection.Originally the communication over the phone was good and we were interested in setting up a taste testing. However this is when it got a little odd as they only do tastings from someone else’s event. For example we wanted to try the chicken thighs and pulled pork so we were originally told we would have to wait one month for an event to try those mains and whatever sides that other event chose. About a week or two before our original tasting event we were suddenly told that day would “no longer work” and there was another event that had the mains we wanted to try in ANOTHER month.Since we have a lot of time still before our wedding we were willing to wait two months to try the food. We were then asked if we wanted to put down a deposit and I asked if it was refundable since we haven’t got to try ANY FOOD at this point and they said the deposit is non refundable. So I asked what happens if we don’t like the food and they replied with “I highly doubt you wouldn’t like the food” like it was normal to take a complete strangers word on the food we would be choosing for our wedding day.So you can’t even try most of their menu unless you have a year or more time to wait around to hope someone else books with them so you can try maybe one or two things you might want for your event. When it finally got to our tasting day we were told we would have to drive to the event in over an hour away in Montgomery MN, which we thought it was a little odd to have to meet at someone’s venue but we made the time for it. When we arrived we were shocked to find out it was someone very full wedding at the venue and we were told to just walk in and come over to the buffet line. We were HIGHLY underdressed and felt very uncomfortable about the fact we were basically crashing someone’s wedding as we had no idea it was a wedding! And it would be VERY obvious of us walking into someone’s private event as we would be walking into the main entrance and wandering until we got to the buffet table and passing multiple tables of people! It was not prefaced at all that this event would be a wedding (we assumed more casual like retirement party, work event etc) and when my fiancé spoke to them on The phone and asked if the bride and groom were aware we would be there they just said “this is how we do our tastings”. I know if it were my wedding and I saw two strangers clearly out of place at my wedding I would be very upset!Overall we will not be going with velvet touch as it’s near impossible to try the exact food you want to without waiting months and months and they expect you to be ok walking into a strangers wedding and standing off to the side to eat a place of food and I’m assuming they expect you to be ok with someone doing it at your wedding if you went with them. They really need to make food tasting an easier process they can’t expect people to wait months to taste two things off their entire menue. I’d have no problem paying to try different food and sides and taking it in a to go box if it meant I’d actually get to try multiple things. They also need to step it their communication and be more detailed in their processes. I get the feeling they have been doing it like this for a while and “that’s just they way it is” but no wonder most of their reviews are from two years ago and the more recent ones are not the most satisfied.
I would avoid. My sister hired them for an event on September 23rd. First they lost her deposit after she sent a picture of the check, they "found" it. The contract included personal for serving and clean up, and they charged her a 15% gratuity for this service. OOps so sorry no people for you. They delivered the food and left, making no arrangements with my sister. They left the dirty pans and their equipment at the venue until the following Wednesday. The potato salad was purchased from Sam's, not made by them. My sister asked for an itemized invoice, the same day, the 23rd and still has not received it. The whole thing has a slight odor to it, the odor of less than honest business practices.
I contacted Velvet Touch Catering for a small private event. Everything was set and I was under the impression someone would be there so I would be able to visit with people instead of worrying about food. The staff set up the buffet and were gone. Communication has sense stopped because the check has cleared the bank. Will not recommend.

10/10 experience! Chef Jon and his team had my wedding guests RAVING about our dinner. I still hear from guests that our wedding food was the best they've had and I give all the credit to Velvet Touch Catering. We served the Southern BBQ and I highly recommend adding the mac n cheese, such a fan favorite. I'd worked in the catering industry previously so I had high expectations and they were completely met with VTC. Jon went above and beyond to satisfy our requests & produced an unforgettable dinner. My future catering needs will go through VTC as I want the privilege of eating his food once again. YUM!
I was disappointed by my experience with Chef Jon at Velvet Touch Catering. Initially I was really excited to meet with him to cater my wedding, since he responded so quickly about setting up a date to meet and I had friends who really enjoyed his food at other events. However, he abruptly stopped replying to me once I asked about the logistics of the meeting. I sent him a 2nd email the week of in case he had lost track, but never sent me a follow-up. Very disappointed.
Excellent food !
Velvet Touch Catering did a great job for our wedding reception! We received a ton of complements on the food. Jon was great to work with.
The catering service does a geat job with setup, tear down, and service! the food is great. My work hires them to cater about 400 people, and they don't miss a beat. They have several different kinds of food bars to setup, I'm guessing we have had them all, and have liked them all! The cheesy hashbrowns are awesome!! I hope this helps.
