Service was good, they found a spot for us to eat even though they were very busy! Food was rough. Potato chips burned so bad I can't believe they sent them out. Pizza was bland and another review mentions they thought it was canned chicken, I'd have to agree. Rush needs to fix it's menu. Shocked it was that full after being open for over a year, maybe there's so few options in New Ulm?

Service is very good. The drinks are nice. The pizza is OK. We ordered the humus and pita, and it simply didn't have any humus. That is not cool. The 4 stars are because the place has potential but is not quite there yet.

Food was really good. Service also good. Pretty spendy. The liquid in My $9 old fashioned barely covered the very thin orange slice.

Beautiful view for dinner but took an hour for us to get our food. Steak overcooked and veggies undercooked, and nothing was seasoned properly. And for the price of food you'd expect it to be decent when it all honesty it was mediocre.

I went to Rush by myself tonight, and was only In town for a meeting, but was told to try it. I sat down to a table that was seated for 4 and they never came and grabbed the extra plates, silverware, glassware, so I stacked it to the side myself and even after the fact; they never grabbed the extra plates. The food was good, just could have used a little bit more seasoning/salt/pepper. Drinks were good!

We stopped in Saturday night for a late night bite. The restaurant has a clean and modern look and feel to it. The staff were very attentive and engaging. The menu is diverse but not all over the place. We tried the stuffed mushroom caps, which were delicious. We also had the sliders and meatballs all off the starter menu. The homemade chips were fantastic, but the meat was a little overworked, which made the meatballs slightly tough. We also tried the martinis and old fashioned from the bar. All of the drinks were delicious, and the new bartender was eager to please and made great drinks. Rush is a must try, and they have an adorable rooftop patio to boot!

Cute vibes, very lackluster food. The jalapeño poppers were whole jalapeños (no breading) loosely wrapped in a bunch of bacon, swimming in cheesy soup? (Thanks for attempting to do GF friendly though!) The stuffed portobellos were slimy and soggy with mushroom juice, topped with a sausage paddy and some gravy like substance that was supposed to be Alfredo. I think this place could be so fun with a little perfecting of their menu. Hope they make improvements and stick around!

We asked to have a Nina pineapple pizza for an appetizer. It was delicious. (The pizza is the best thing on the menu IMO). Unfortunately, it came out with the rest of our food. NBD. But not optimal. The Philly cheese steak was good; soft bread toasted slightly with tender steak bits. 7/10. My wife had the shells and cheese with shrimp 5.5/10.

The bartender brought our bottle of white wine. Didn’t give us chiller or offer to pour the first glass. Wine etiquette 1/10.

Our server was chipper, sweet and available when needed. Failed to introduce herself, though. 8/10

The best part of the evening was enjoying our bottle of wine on the wonderful patio. Atmosphere 9/10 . I highly recommend going if only to enjoy a warm summer evening and a cocktail.

A beautiful night on the roof top! Delicious food, good wine, very gracious servers, and a delightful atmosphere. The mixed mushroom pasta was yummy, as was the pork penne bolognese and the blueberry ice cream. It made my birthday very special!

Love the concept of local farm to table. Looked forward to trying this for a while and was very excited for the gluten free options. Really wanted to love this restaurant, but the service was just okay. My husband requested Michter’s, neat and the server asked if he wanted coke, orange juice or soda with it so he had to explain what “neat” meant. The menu states to ask what the chef’s choice steak option is and the server didn’t know and had to go ask. We ordered a pork chop and chicken breast. Both were dry. The chicken breast was too large and I was only able to eat about a third of it. Potatoes, mashed and roasted, were luke warm. The pork chop was under seasoned. Asparagus was woody and tough. We sat inside and the sun shined in my husband’s face and he had to shade his face while eating. We had to flag down the server to ask for our check as we were done for quite some time and she didn’t come back. The pen she gave us didn’t work so I had to get one from my purse. We loved the grilled fruit appetizer and if we decide to go again, it would be for drinks and grilled fruit. I had the gf lavender cake, to go, and I opened it to take a peek at it as soon as it was brought to the table and it was in pieces. It was good, but not great.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available and noted on the menu.

Rush is a fantastic spot! The pizza is delicious, along with the brushetta & buffalo chix dip. The outside patio atmosphere is awesome, with a laid-back vibe that’s great for relaxing or socializing and catching a sunset. The drinks are on point, too, making it an all-around great place to hang out and enjoy a meal. The service was good and attentive.

Pretty spot for a restaurant. Had the Lord Farquad pizza. Service was okay, the pizza sauce was too tangy for my taste, ham was in giant chunks, and the crust had these odd high walls on it. We do plan on going back to try their non pizza options though.

Rush is our go-to spot in New Ulm when we want to feel as if we’re not in New Ulm. The space is well appointed with a high-end-restaurant-meets-the-prairie sort of vibe. When the weather is cooperative, the rooftop provides an ambience that’s unmatched in town, especially after dark with twinkling lights, little decorative fire pits, throw pillows to whip your date with, etc.

Another welcome touch indoors is the Zwiesel glassware (even the water glasses), which is appropriately Deutsch for New Ulm and enhances the dining experience. You could drink big city tap water from a $20 pinot glass and it would taste like Acqua Panna. I promise. Service has always been attentive and pleasant. But if you push the staff on wine or food details, things get sketchy in a hurry.

Our usual strategy here is to split a large pizza and bottle of wine, which, considering the surroundings and ingredient quality, feels like a deal. On our last visit, the Naughty Nana—a fancy take on the traditional Hawaiian pizza with pickled banana peppers and red pepper flakes added—was extra naughty. As in five-alarm-heat-level naughty. Other than this one-time hiccup though, we’ve always been fans of the pizza.

Other menu items have been hit and miss. Pasta dishes we’ve ordered have come to the table oddly assembled. It seems like they plop the pasta in the serving bowl and then pour the other ingredients over the top. Pasta needs to be coated in fat and tossed with the other ingredients over heat to create a composed dish. We had a similar experience with a cold pasta salad—it was a mix-your-own affair at the table. During our last visit, the kitchen staff let our soft-serve ice cream languish under a heat lamp until our server swooped over to grab it a few minutes later. When it arrived at our table, it was a lake of milk with little flourless chocolate cake islands. I suppose the kitchen could have done this on purpose—to put the “soft” in soft serve.

However, most of the misses we’ve experienced at Rush are minor quibbles. We’re glad to have this space in New Ulm!

We visited Rush for the first time and were so impressed! Beautiful rooftop setting. We ordered 3 starters - the buffalo chicken dip (so so good - would def order again), jalepeno poppers (lots of spicy flavor!), the focacia (delicious) - & the pickle pizza (love the homemade pickles). Our server was helpful and friendly. Can't wait to visit again soon!
