Max's Grill & Sheep Shedde Inn

We ate at Max's grill and sat in the dining area. This was are first visit. Max's appeared to be on the above average scale of restaurants. It had a rich feeling and cotton napkins (not the cheap nylon ones). Although I wish they would not cheap out on the forks.
I had the pulled bbq pork sandwich which was topped with a sweet sauce and coleslaw on a ciabatta bun. I had pickle fries with it.
The sandwich had good flavor and was a large portion. Although I had to eat it with a fork an knife as the bottom bun was soaked to a point that it could not be picked up. The pork was warm and could have been hotter.
The pickle fries had a light crispy batter coating. More of a novelty item as there was not really a pickle taste (a few of them actually tasted like fish).
My wife had the rueban sandwich and French fries.
The sandwich was made of thin sliced stacked meat and a thick slice of cheese on grilled rye bread. She said it was very good. The French fries were typical streight cut skin on potato fries.
The bill was $40 with a water and coffee to drink.

Outstanding Fly-In Lunch Spot!
I flew into Olivia Municipal Airport on a gorgeous VFR day and made my way over to Max's Grill & Sheep Shedde Inn for lunch. The entire experience was fantastic—friendly service (thank you Coral!), quick seating, and most importantly, a delicious meal. The burger I ordered was perfectly done, and the fries were hot and crispy. Great small-town atmosphere with the kind of genuine hospitality you hope for on a cross-country flight.
Highly recommend for any pilot passing through—just a short walk from the airport, and well worth it! ✈️🍔

Didn't stay at the hotel. We ate lunch at Max's grill. Food was great, service was spectacular. I recommend the corn bites on the appetizer list. Those were really good

We stopped in on our way through for lunch and were welcomed with a smile, good food, clean restrooms, generous portions and friendly service. Our waitress was knowledgeable, kind and attentive. Would for sure stop again if we were traveling through.

The chicken mushroom penne was fantastic!! Had it delivered and it was still hot! Very good!!
