Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Got in right before a group of about 15. The omelet was on the darker side but it was huge & pretty good. We added onions and peppers to the meat omelet. The classic breakfast was also good, I swapped the hasbrowns for breakfast potatoes. They were nice and crisp. Kids French toast sticks were kinda hard. Didn't get a refill on drinks but that's okay, she was busy with the big group. I would recommend trying it, we stopped on the way to Park Rapids from DL. Tucked in the woods a bit off 34.
Great food and staff. We had the stake and egg special. It was great. Place is in the woods and beautiful!!!!
We had great service. The BBQ ribs were great. Great staff.

Everyone was so friendly the minute you walked in. Outdoor seating was gorgeous views of their resort. Avocado BLT was so delicious! Microbrews on tab. Fast lunch service. Hidden gem.

The formerly wonderful menu has deteriorated to cheap, unremarkable food. OBT has better food than these people now. Shame.......
We weren't able to eat as published hours were NOT available. We went at 10:00 and they didn't open until 11:00.

From the moment we walked in the door we felt so welcome. Very good food. Very friendly staff. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a excellent dining experience.
Really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. Hard to beat for the price. The resort has great access to the nesrby ATV trails. I ended up having some mechanical issues with my 4 wheeler so it was really convenient to be able to rent a side by side from the resort. We ate most of our meals at the cookhouse which was good and then made smores in the evenings around the fire. Would stay again. Looked like a great place to have a wedding.
We were there this last weekend with another couple. 35 mile drive one way and so disappointing. Our friends had steak that were really tough, carrots weren't cooked with no taste, beans tasted like they came right out of a can, asparagus had no taste except for wine. They forgot my husband's food so his came out about 10 minutes after ours. He said his burger was good but his fries were literally dripping with grease and he couldn't eat them because they weren't even cooked. "Loaded" baked potato had just a tiny bit of cheese and bacon on it. Around $160 between the 4 of us. Never again. Best thing about this place is the scenery.

I don't understand some of these negative reviews this place is phenomenal. Service was beyond what I expected. Customer for life!

Great camping spot. The owners are amazing.
Pros: It is quaint and looks nice outside. The warm bread and seasoned butters were very good.Cons: My "medium rare" steak was beyond well done, and very dry. Wife's salmon was dry and overcooked as well. The rice and beans lacked flavor as did the veggies. We really did want to like this place but the food was really not good, so we won't be back.

I really wanted to love this place. My family and I stayed at the jack pines resort following a funeral for my grandmother. While the rest of the family went to the rodeo I was excited to treat myself to my favorite, game meat, despite the high cost. I decided to go big and after much internal debate about the price went for the elk chop, wild rice pilaf and salad (most expensive on the menu at $40+). I should have known better when they said it would be 45 min. I showed up after 30 min and my food wasn't done which wasn't a big deal I just didn't want it to wait in the window. The walk back to my cabin was less than 5 min. The salad was first which consisted of all spinach with 2 tomatoes and a handful of onions. My chop was tiny probably about 4 oz (the menu didn't specify sizes) and extremely overdone. There wasn't any pink and it tasted extremely gamey (my favorite meat is venison so I expected some gaminess). It was rolled in coffee grounds and suppose to have blueberry compote. The coffee made the already gamey meat extremely bitter and the blueberry compote was almost non-existent. The vegetables were okay but the ricepilaf was horrid and dry, basically inedible. After debating I called the restaurant to ask about the temp of which they cook the elk and that mine was extremely well-done and dry. The answer I got was "grilled to perfectIon" and offered to remake it. They tried to say that if it sat it might have continued to cook but I was there before it was ready and it didn't even have a chance to rest. When I went to pick up my new chop they made sure to just include the chop. Not a big deal except they took my old to go back which had the veg and rice pilaf. I told the wait staff that and they offered to let my take the veg and rice pilaf back but at that point theu were extremely cold and the doors were locked and they were handing me my food out the door and I had my hands full with my 2 year old. The new chop was cooked to a perfect med rare and I scarfed it down as I was starving at that point. Even then it was just okay, def not worth the price tag. I was extremely disappointed and still hungry and would have been happier with even fast food!!! Would not recommend and would not return
