I wasn't expecting much but we all ended up enjoying this place. I had the country fried steak, Im pretty sure they make thier gravy in house, it had lots of sausage in it which I like. Hash browns were good though I personally would ask for extra crispy next time. I really liked the way they do the scrambled eggs, and they used real butter on my English muffin (not cheap margarine like most places)
The restaurant was very chaotic even with only half the tables full. The coffee was absolutely awful, and they must have grabbed our first cups from an old pot. We dumped those and the carafe was normally bad, not extra bad. Basically tastes like they haven't cleaned the bunn coffee makers in a dozen years. Stale, weak...gross. Flies everywhere. Food was ok. I don't live here but I love visiting the area. Whenever I'm staying in the area I always make it a point to go to Betty's pantry. Both my wife and I love the great home cooking, the charming decor and the friendly service.
