What a wonderful dining experience. I am celiac and need to follow a gluten free diet. Our waitress was amazing and pointed out the items on the menu that were gluten free. They aren’t dedicated gluten free but they do take allergen precautions. She did mention that they offer gluten free pasta and make sure to cook it in its own water. I had the Tuscan chicken with asparagus and baked potato for my sides. (As a symptomatic celiac, I had no reaction to their food). My husband and son shared the baked rigatoni and they LOVED it.

My office decided to do our Christmas Party/lunch here. Our server was sweet but looked as though she was the only server working because we waited a long time. Our drink order took forever and no one ordered alcohol. We finished our appetizer and waited over 30 minutes before she even took our food order. When our food arrived, my coworkers soup was ice cold and once again, we had to wait a long while before it could be sent back. My sandwich was missing several ingredients as well but I did not wish to wait for another one. The staff member who delivered our food and took our plates had 2-3 inch artificial nails which is disgusting when you are working with people's food. We received no apologies for the wait or the issues with our food whatsoever. I am truly saddened to have had such a poor experience because I had been looking forward to eating here. Not sure if I will be back or not.

Our group of 4 ate here on New Year's Eve. The food was wonderful. Everyone loved their meal. The best thing was our excellent attentive server. Kellie was the best!

Roma’s Italian Eatery is an absolute gem in Owatonna! From the moment the food arrived, it was clear this place takes pride in flavor, quality, and presentation.

We started with the toasted ravioli—perfectly crisp on the outside, warm and cheesy inside, and incredibly satisfying. The Italian cheese curds were golden, fresh, and addictive. The steak crostini was a standout appetizer: tender steak, beautifully seasoned, and balanced perfectly on toasted bread.

For mains, every dish impressed. The jumbo shrimp pasta was rich, flavorful, and generously portioned, with shrimp cooked just right. The salmon with seasoned potatoes was cooked to perfection—flaky, moist, and complemented beautifully by the well-seasoned potatoes. The Alfredo pasta with vegetables was creamy, comforting, and full of fresh flavors without being too heavy.

To top it off, the Old Fashioned was expertly made—smooth, balanced, and exactly how a classic cocktail should be.

Fantastic food, great drinks, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Roma’s delivers consistently high quality and feels like a place you can come back to again and again. Highly recommend for both special dinners and casual nights out!

My boyfriend and I were excited to try this place after hearing good things, but unfortunately it did not deliver. Our appetizer, the small plate sampler, had fried ravioli, bruschetta, and we substituted the Italian seasoned cheese curds for the steak option, as I am a pescatarian. They made the accommodation, but made sure to tell us this was a one-time thing and won't be happening again. Which felt uncomfortable, and unnecessary. The appetizers were average, the cheese curds were served with shredded parmesan thrown over the top, which was a strange addition because it didn't even melt, it just fell to the bottom of the plate. The ravioli were average and the bruschetta was a little soggy.
I had the salmon in herb butter sauce that came with 2 sides, for my first side I chose the Sicilian vegetables, and my second side I added a Ceasar salad for $5. The Sicilian vegetables were 100% from a frozen bag of veggies, the were over cooked, mushy and had a previously frozen taste. The Cesar salad was good, but it didn't taste like homemade dressing. It was lacking the anchovy taste of a true homemade ceasar. The salmon was good. Slightly more done than I like it, but acceptable. Nothing to write home about.
My boyfriend ordered the shrimp scampi. The pasta was over cooked and it was sitting in a pool of unflavored butter. It was served with a lemon wedge which he said gave it a better flavor, but it wasn't quite enough, so he used the rest of my lemon from my plate and had to give it a good stir. The only reason he didn't return the plate, is because he said the shrimp was cooked perfectly. He was blown away by how over cooked the pasta was.
There were many good dessert options and we split the tiramisu, hoping to have at least one good thing to say about the food to our friends and family who were absolutely going to ask about our dining experience. It was again, average. Not enough espresso soaked ladyfingers to the amount of marscepone cream.
The best part of our experience was the waitress. The waitress we had was super nice, she was personable, had a really good attitude and was trying her best. For the money, it was not worth dining. I am honestly surprised with all the other good reviews. We were thinking we went on a night where they were under staffed in the kitchen? But again for the price we paid for very average food. We will not be planning a return trip anytime soon.

Went for lunch on 12/19/25. Service was extremely slow. We received the appetizer, the only good thing about the meal. That was hot. Our food, once we finally received it, was incorrect and cold. We were concerned about sending back a sandwich for fear that it would take another 30 minutes to come out hot. Soup was ice cold, that was sent back. One of the waitresses had VERY LONG fingernails and was touching plates, etc. Not vey hygienic.
I have been here before and have been overly impressed with the service/quality. It will be a long time before I think of returning. The check was over $100 and I feel like I wasted my money.

We went out for our anniversary. The restaurant was very clean & modern. Our server was very kind and polite. The food was beyond outstanding, I don't know how they do it but that was the most tender chicken I have ever had. Loved. Every. Bite. I don't think our bellies had ever been so full. Will be returning in the future. 12/10 🌟

The only thing I didn’t realize was they have a limited menu for lunch. Otherwise, food was good, drinks were good, and the service was great !

My husband and I decided on Romas Italian Eatery for our date Saturday afternoon (11/8/25). The feel of the restaurant is cozy and chic. The staff are amazing and very attentive. I got the breaded walleye with asparagus and Alfredo pasta and my husband got the lasagna. we had the steak crustinis to share and ended with a tiramisu so good it literally made me tear up. Very affordable and the portions allowed for a meal the next day. Everything is super fresh and homemade, right down to the croutons. You can tell the difference! Do not sleep on this place. It is a definite must experience.
