We wandered into Dorset after season and very glad we did! Found 218 Venture a fun, inviting atmosphere with fantastic burgers and a tasty mimosas. The 218 burger and Jack Attack both delicious. Enjoyed the staff as much as the food! Definitely recommend!

218 SIGNATURE SAUCE! Some of the best bone-in wings I've ever had hands down. A sweet followed by just the right heat. The wings were crispy yet moist! Also tried the walleye fingers and sweet potato waffle fries ? Highly recommend this establishment - great food and friendly service! Did I tell you about the 218 Signature Sauce?

Excellent food, tasty beverages, and there was an acoustic player that was great, on Thursday when we were there. Looking forward to trying breakfast one of these weekends!

We went in at 9pm on a Saturday night and were told they weren’t serving drinks anymore. The bar hours said they closed at 10pm. The bartender was very rude. Why be open until 10 pm when you are not serving? Absolutely ridiculous! Dorset deserves better.

Was looking forward to having drinks and apps here after a trip to Nevis. The drink I got had a cute flamingo floatie but was not great and needed margarita mix to make it drinkable. Was excited to have boneless wings but was informed after ordering they were out of wings… so had to do the steak bites which were mediocre. Would likely just eat in Nevis next time.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we were immediately impressed by the exterior. Most of the seats were actually boat seats. Additionally, the main seating area outside was set up to look like a giant pontoon. The waiting area also offered a row of boat seats. But how was the food?

When we entered the building, I lost the theme of the place. Yes, there were still boating items, but they also had tennis rackets, car steering wheels and other items mounted to the wall. I lost that feeling of being on a boat.

The bar area was nice, and there was a game room to one side with some tables in it. We were seated in a dining area in the front of the restaurant.

Immediately, our waitress dropped off some containers of popcorn, a free appetizer of sorts. That was something I hadn’t seen before, but a fun touch nonetheless.

The menu isn’t large, which is fine by me. It wasn’t so overwhelming as some places. I wasn’t very hungry, so I opted for steak bites, medium rare, as did several others in our group. My wife ordered a cheeseburger.

Our food came out fairly quickly, and the steak bites looked delicious. But they weren’t even close to medium rare. They were well done. My son pointed out that it’s hard to do them medium rare, which may be true, but I’ve been to restaurants that have delivered them that way. I will admit, though, that the dipping sauce, some sort of chipotle sauce, was absolutely amazing. It wasn’t spicy, but had a wonderful flavor.

And most everyone said the same thing about the food. They liked it, but it didn’t really stand out.

Would I go back? I’m sure I would. I like to give a restaurant at least two tries, so I’m sure we’ll stop again when we’re in the area next year.

Parking: Parking in Dorset can always be a pain. There are spots along the main street and behind the restaurant. However, if the town is busy, good luck. There are times we’ve had to park along the street outside the “city limits”, so to speak.
