Considered a rite of passage for newcomers, The Royal Bar, or "The Royal," is a must visit. This former movie house has lived as a shot, beer and burger joint about as long as I can remember. The staff are stern, sharp and prompt. The hamburgers and fries always delicious and filling. Reasonably priced, steeped in neon, hardly changed in decades.

Great downtown bar with fantastic bar basket selections! The pork tenderloin was scrumptious! They even had wine!
Nice bar and grill on Main Street in Park Rapids. The decor and building are great - high ceilings and some very interesting objects affixed all over, like the airplane over the bar. Service was great - our waitress was attentive and made sure everything was good for us. The food was pretty good - the burgers were juicy and well-cooked , but the fries and onion rings were just OK; could have been an off day on the fryer. Prices were definitely reasonable - definitely would come back to the Royal.

One of the best bars for north central Minnesota! Always staffed, fast service, good cold brews on tap, and usually stronger cocktails and mixed drinks. There are darts and a pool table too. Usually pretty crowded Friday and Saturday nights. Royal Bar serves up some of the best California burgers you will ever eat. There's also a place to smoke in front and back of the building. Cheers to Royal Bar!
