Just an overall terrible experience. Had to track down the bartender every time I wanted a drink and inedible food took forever and it wasn’t even busy.

I asked various questions about the food, but wait staff didn't seem to know how to answer the questions. When we got the food, it was overfried, dried out and hard to even chew.

I went to go visit The rooster on sunday 8/4/24. Neither bartenders asked If I wanted a menu....now remember I showed up prior 7pm.... while 1 of the bartenders did ask what beer I wanted....no one asked me what I wanted eat.....if that was my place the kitchen would stay open until 9pm or 10pm, if the bartenders refused they would be fired. So I will take my business and go else wear.

We waited an hour and 45 minutes for our food. We were here for a baseball tournament, so they were busy, wish they would have told us they couldn't handle the crowd. They had plenty of seating, in fact, there were still empty tables. The appearance was that they had seating for large crowd, they could handle a large crowd. Our player ended up wolfing his food in the car on the way back to the field.
My chicken sandwich was grisly, tho the sweet potato fries were very good. The chicken wrap was very small.
We were planning on dining in, but ended up take out.
We will not return.

Read a review they were winning awards for their bloody mary, so took a country drive to see what the hype was about.
Place was very simple in ambiance, clean and well kept. It was hopping with locals enjoying the food, owner was bartending and shared about his bloody marys.
They have their own mix, a unique rim seasoning and locally sourced horseradish pickle, which was delicious. Simple pickle olive garnish, and that was all it needed. Oh, and served with a chaser of beer.
They use local meats in the kitchen, and apparently the local bacon which has been made famous by Martha Stuart is on their sandwiches. Which we were offered to sample, it was good!
They also have meat raffles, not being a Minnesotan, I will need to experience this, and multiple fun events yearly including October fest.
Honestly it was a interesting stop, wonderful people, that was well worth the trip!
And yes, the bloody marys are fabulous!
