We stopped on March 25th in hope of getting the good breakfast we remembered from other trips to the area. A sign on the door advises guests that the restaurant closed on December 31, 2021 for rejuvenation and remodeling. Check the sign for a reopening date. It appears that work is being done.

They have ONE cook, and she is slower than molasses. 35 minutes to get out 2 orders of French toast.Went back to give them a second chance and after seeing them man handle some toast before giving it a man and the gnats in their display case with the pies and bread and after 40 minutes waiting on biscuits and gravy ( breakfast special for THAT DAY) we walked out.

We walked out after 15 minutes of setting there waiting for assistance. The staff helped others that came in after us. It was obvious that you got better service if they knew you. So if you are traveling through don’t wast your time stopping here. There are better places in Pipestone to eat.

Worst restaurant I’ve ever been in. Took over an hour and half to get a simple breakfast for our party of five.Then couldn’t figure out the bill to pay. Plus our waitress totally ignored us.Never go there!!

This place had great food and service and they have quite an array of home baked cinnamon rolls, donuts, pies and more besides a good breakfast menu. Good coffee.

Standard breakfast fare in historic cafe, had very good service and we were both happy with our meals.

I don't know what happened to Lange's because they use to be a decent place to eat. Did they change ownership? If so IT IS NOT FOR THE GOOD. Started out at a dirty table and when asked what to drink asked for tea. Sorry we don't have tea (really at that point should have walked out). So we asked for waters. The water glass was probably 4 oz of water. Again Really?! So husband asked for a small Pepsi. Another 4 oz plastic cup. Then the kicker the Pepsi was flat. So they asked if he would like something else. How about you fix the machine and add the co2 doh! But did they no. So we place our order. Sit there for about 45 mins for our food. Finally arrives. The pancakes look like they were reheated and leftovers from someone else's plate. They were awful! Salty, undercooked just plain disgusting. The chicken fried steak tasted like it was cooked in rancid oil. The plates were chipped and cracked. The restaurant was not very clean. I'm sad because it was a great place at one time but no longer. Then the topper: I was paying with my debit card and was told Oh we charge 3.5% now if you use your card. Do you have cash? No if I had cash I would have paid in cash! So there goes that tip.

Love this place. We were in Pipestone for a few days and had breakfact here several times. Great food and service and they allowed us to bring our well mannered dog in. Local crowd but they welcome travelers.
The food was bad. When I ordered my food they didn’t even bring the correct order. The tomato’s tasted like disinfectant. They barely cleaned our table. The bacon was hard I couldn’t chew it. Service was poor. I ordered a salad for my grandson and he didn’t even get his order. They were out the food you wanted to order. I’m never eating there again!!!

Have eaten at Lange’s for 20 years. Excellent food. Tastes like food my mom would make from raisin cream pie to yummy caramel rolls. Their meats are high quality and quantity. Eggs are always prepared as ordered. I drive out of my way to be able to eat at Lange’s!

Food was under cooked,was served raw eggs and cold. service slow and was told they would try to give a refill on coffee. When talked with the manager she didn't even offer a discount on the food that we could not eat. Definitely do not recommend this place

Stood at the counter for over 5 minutes waiting to get dessert. There was several servers up at the counter by their register to put their orders in. One walked right by me. Felt invisible, noone even acknowledged that I was standing there. The restaurant wasn't even that busy and we couldn't even find a clean table to sit at. Our server forgot many things,???

The food was okay and the service was fine, but the restaurant smelled so bad it recked my appetite. There was water damage on the ceiling and carpet is so bad it made me sick to my stomach to look down at the floor. Will not go back.
