I waited 30 minutes for a salad, there were two tables and six other people in the bar. The bartender was more worried about going out to smoke than wait on customers. I was not the only one that was annoyed, and thought it should be noted.

I got take out three times because I was staying close to this restaurant and there aren't many in the area . Absolutely awful the steak was way overcooked I ordered it medium rare and it was well done no pink showing at all . The quality of the meat was also very bad I will say one thing they're brussel sprouts with bacon were very good other than that I will pass on going back here again the other people in my party complained about their food as well not being good I'm sorry I don't like doing this the local businesses but the truth is what it is !,

Ask for Tanner! He is awesome! He served our party of 3 on a Sunday night. He made sure that we had everything we needed and also helped out with some great recommendations. Good place for food! We came in very hangry, tanner was quick to get our food in and by the end we had full bellies and smiles. The apple crisp had my taste buds flying! We will be back! Thanks again!

We highly recommend Black Woods Catering. The food was delicious, the on-site team was professional, and our buffet line never ran low. Early in the process, Emily walked us through the many options available to us, set up a tasting on a trip to Duluth, and worked with us as our wedding day neared as we refined the menu and guest count. Black Woods took excellent care of one of the major items at a wedding -- catering -- and allowed us to focus on our special day!

Nice place to go when you want to relax and get something good to snack on with a drink!

Huge thanks to Black Woods Catering for all of the care in helping make our wedding evening go so smoothly! Leading up to the wedding, Molly & Emily were very effective in making sure they had everything they needed before the big day arrived. They were also able to accommodate special food requests for dairy & gluten free.We got married in May, and we had our grooms dinner at the Proctor Event Center and had full service catering day of. We received so many compliments both nights on the food, service, and bar staff. (Paige specifically was an absolute JOY to work with!)We felt the day of staff truly went above and beyond. Not only were they willing to help with our special requests (like brining salads upstairs after the ceremony for the bride & groom to share during cocktail hour), but also ensuring to check in with us to make sure that everything was on schedule and we were getting everything we needed. We genuinely enjoyed working with you both evenings and would readily recommend Black Woods to anyone!Cheers,L+C

I worked in the service industry 10 years while in college and just after. As a server, mostly bartender and manager. This place is doing everything right. It's little details that you only notice if you worked in the industry or frequent fine dining. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly service of Taylor was awesome. Her timing was impeccable, she asked me if I wanted a soup or salad, and yes I absolutely did and forget to ask for my Caesar every time. (Maybe don't put "up sell" on the ticket) I don't know if Taylor is just good or the management does an awesome job of training, this is my first time. The Caesar came out immediately, I forgot to ask for extra dressing, I always do. I asked after it was dropped, Taylor got it to me before my first bite. Literally 60 seconds after I pushed my salad away, Taylor dropped my pasta. Perfect timing. She checked back after my second bite and asked how it was, that is something I noticed. Not sure if it's taught, but it's so appreciated. All of this is service, but something that stood out even more was the welcoming to the area and her tips on where to park my RV trailer and good places to go. She acted like an ambassador to the area. This is something myself and other co workers prided ourselves on. We worked in a 5 story restaurant in downtown Fort Worth. It sells 10+ million every year. If you impress me, you impress anyone. Thank you, and I'll drive out of my way to come here. The menu is amazing and I want to try it all. I forgot to mention on my google review, the chilled salad fork was a nice touch.

So, I just had the saddest pulled pork sandwich at your catering tent located at Bayfront. You guys are serving held, half warmed pork sandwiches for $10 with a $0.50 bag of chips. The bun was somehow simultaneously wet and stale, the pork is cooked to hell and back, and the sandwich was built likely hours before I bought it. It weighs the same as a McDouble, and thats a $2 sandwich. AND it’s served hot. You’re an established catering service, attached to a rather established restaurant group, and this is what you bring to represent yourselves? It’s disrespectful.

I don't like writing reviews less than 4 stars, but I use Yelp to find good places to go and feel like I need to be honest about this place. The good:- family friendly- good variety of menu options- friendly hostess- comfortable seating- room for bigger groups- vegan and gluten free optionsThe not-so-good:- slow (getting seated, getting food, check ins)- steak was overcooked and lower quality- green beans looks like they had been sitting out a while- ketchup for waffle fries provided in a small cup (not enough...just bring the bottle!)...and since service was slow, I couldn't ask for more. - Server waited until, literally, my last bite to ask how things were. Really? A bit late by then!- overpriced for the quality- loud ambience (see Family Friendly, above)Stated simply, I'd rather go to any of the major chain restaurants like Perkins, Applebees, TGIFs, etc. and not here. I won't be back.

We ordered a $150 catered Thanksgiving dinner from this place. WORST FOOD EVER!! The turkey was so overlooked and dried out we were surprised it hadn't turned to dust. The (ha ha) stuffing was what looked to be a couple of boxes of Stove Top dumped in a pan. Problem was they forgot to add any liquid to it so all it was, was dry bread crumbs. The "coleslaw" was some purple cabbage with cranberries in it. To make it more gross, they hadn't bothered with any type of dressing on it! The mashed potatoes tasted like they were made with sour milk. The only half way decent thing was the corn out of a can. I sent an email to the manager letting her know how awful it was and she couldn't even be bothered to apologize!! I DO NOT recommend this as a place to eat! If I could give them 0 stars, I would

We ordered the Thanksgiving meal for 6. Enough food for more, easily. I have NEVER had turkey this good. I was thankful not to have to cook everything but that turkey alone made it so much better. Seriously, you set a high bar. Easy pickup and friendly service from start to finish. A+

Blackwoods catering catered our wedding, buffet style, using their bar menu. The food was amazing and people continue to rave that it was some of the best wedding food they've ever had. We did their taco bar and asked for a chicken finger bar and it was all set up so beautifully and creatively. The planning process was a bit tricky however. We had our wedding on an island we were some what restricted by the timing of and how often the ferry was running, and when we needed to have dinner completed by. Blackwoods suggested that if we house the catering staff on the island, then we could have a looser timeline, versus rushing through dinner so they could catch the 7:30 ferry home. We decided to move forward with housing the staff and had everything arranged, but then were told that management had changed their mind, and that staff was not allowed to spend then night, so we had to rework our whole time line again. We also planned a trip to come up to Blackwoods restaurant so we could have dinner and try their bar food. We were told that staff was expecting us, but the waitress we had clearly had no idea who we were. We asked for recommendations of things to try off the menu and they didn't recommend anything, and also spent the majority of their time waiting on their table of friends seated behind us. Our end result of our wedding dinner was fantastic, it just was a bit of a bumpy road getting there.

When I was looking for a place to host a larger party for dinner, I had trouble finding a restaurant in the area that would accommodate 20 people. Not only did Blackwoods accept our reservation, Ben and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make sure we were cared for all evening. They didn't give us a timeline to adhere to, the food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. I was so impressed and will continue to support Blackwoods whenever I'm in town.
