Located on the main level of the historic St. James hotel in charming downtown Red Wing, Scarlet offers upscale/casual dining with sweeping views of the river. Elevated menu items and tasteful touches like custom glassware and cutlery add a nice touch. Staff is friendly and dining room offers beautiful mahogany and red finishes for an inviting feel. Large menu with surely something for everyone!

Great menu, great drinks in a great setting. Tucked in the St James Hotel. Definitely a must see for a drink or two when visiting Red Wing. If you're hungry the food was pretty good as well.

Food surprised me spent $20 on an open faced brisket sandwich and was actually disappointed. The brisket was even cold. Really unfortunate. Other than that love the atmosphere and the server was very nice.

Our waiter was amazing. He owned a Bengal cat. The food was outstanding and the view to.

Fine dining experience with a casual feel. I generally come down here once a year when I'm passing through Red Wing and it's always a good time. Food is good and the drinks are great.

The spainich artichoke dip is back on the menu and it feels like re-uniting with a dead family member, probably even better actually. I want to eat a bucket of it with my hands

Scarlet Kitchen is a very nice restaurant inside the St.James hotel. There is currently some outside construction going on, so the entrance is on the side street. They have a great menu and service is excellent!

The staff are kind and accommodating. The food was excellent. Got the Crab Rangoon dip with pita bread as a starter and I could've just eaten that on its own for the whole meal, it was that good. The various seating options are nice as well. Being able to have a meal and overlook the Mississipi River adds a lovely vibe.

A horrible experience! We had a reservation and were on time. We had tickets for an event at The Sheldon Theater so planned for plenty of time to enjoy a nice dinner.
We waited an hour, watching all the tables around us getting their orders. Finally we were told “the kitchen lost our ticket”. We were offered a free dessert ! So VERY disappointing and no dinner before the concert! Won’t be back any time soon even though we visit family in Redwing often!

Best pretzel in the world. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation if you intend to go. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy. Other people were complaining about busy service and wait times. Be proactive people - make a reservation, plan ahead.

We enjoyed our visit on a Saturday morning. The food was good (they had gluten free options), service great, ambience great. They were not serving meals on the beautiful deck and I look forward to going back in the summer to enjoy a meal in the deck with views of the Mississippi.

We went on a Saturday. Super busy. We waited for an hour and 15 mins to sit at the bar (got on their waiting list via text service) to have a bloody. We then decided to have a couple appetizers to make it worth the wait. The hostess, Lisa was AMAZING! Handled the pressure of the long wait lines and chaos with calmness and class. I cannot remember our bartenders name, but she was nice. The other bartender, (Kate) not so friendly and she made a point to whisper a few things that I overheard to the other bartender, that should have been discussed in the Back. Don’t complain about people at the bar, right in front of them. Clanging and banging stuff around. I don’t think she enjoyed being at work that day.
