Mr. D’s in Sartell = AMAZING. Great food, AWESOME staff, and the perfect atmosphere. The owner Kenny & his wife Amber are so friendly and Mike the head chef makes the absolute BEST scotch eggs you’ll ever have. 10/10 recommend!

Was not satisfied at all! First got my steak they serve it over the mashed potatoes. It does not State that on the menu. There are no knives to even cut the steak. Waited here for an hour to send the food back. I ordered the poutine, which was not the correct poutine. I originally sat here and waited for my food, but after an hour and 20 minutes, I still hadn’t received it. I asked for it to go. I got my steak remade and mashed potatoes remade not worth $27. The burger was so flat and see-through that my child would not even eat it. The poutine does not even look like poutine. Wanted to try this place out because it was new. I definitely will not be going back..

Stopped in here today (8.21.25) at 11am, with my grandmother, my wife and two kiddos, one aged almost 2 years the other 3 weeks old. We were greeted right away and sat ourselves, there was only 1 other table and a couple folks at the bar. We were given the lunch menu, we didn't realize only lunch was offered, it was the poutine that my wife wanted real bad that brought us in. We ordered 3 smash burgers (2 double patties), my wife asked for no sauce, add cheese and raw onion instead of the caramelized onion that is listed on the menu. Her burger was served with no cheese, she asked for some cheese and was then served it with cheese the second time. My grandmother's burger didn't have caramelized onions, and the same with mine. My grandmother's had a big nice slice of tomato while mine had the end pieces. Both my grandmother's and my burgers didn't have any cheese. My wife's fries seemed to have been cooked a second time, my grandmother's burger came out 5-6 minutes after the rest of the food.
All in all, we will give the place another shot, probably for dinner that way we can get the poutine. The bartender was friendly. He told us they didn't offer dinner menu options that way the chef could focus in on and perfect the lunch menu during lunch service. I've spent more than a decade in food service with many years in the bar and grill setting, the impression I got is that Mr. D's may have gotten ahead of themselves between the menu options and actual service given. The menu is awesome and is much more along the lines of what you'd find in the East Metro as opposed to Central MN, and that's what brought us in. However, the food was under par. Like I said, we will be back. I recommend, if the cooks do not know the menu, take a menu into the kitchen and use it while building menu items until they do. The games for children is a bit of an odd touch, while they are loud and distracting, they didn't bother me too much as it was fairly quiet for lunch anyways. I also recommend communicating menu/service offerings on the website. I tried to make a reservation and could not find a number online. It's fine if it's only lunch menu until things are more put together, but finding out upon sitting down is a bit of an inconvenience.

Atmosphere bland at best Because of food costs , A place you may want to bring a date But with kids shooting games and banging on buttons…, yelling v( because there kids) And it’s all wide open eating 🙁… best to go elsewhere… if you want a lil cozy Food Ok , but cost per portion .. expensive

We recently visited this restaurant and had a great overall experience. The atmosphere is very family-friendly, making it a comfortable spot to bring kids. I ordered the house smash burger with fries, and it was prepared really well. The burger had great flavor, and the homemade fries were especially delicious. Prices are on par with other restaurants in the area, so it felt fair for the quality of food and experience.My son ordered the kids’ mac and cheese, which was homemade. While it was tasty, it had a bit more of an upscale twist than we expected for a children’s meal. Unfortunately, he didn’t care much for the flavor.
One highlight for families is the multitude of arcade games available to keep kids entertained—just make sure to bring some dollar bills for the machines.
Overall, though, we enjoyed our visit. Good food, reasonable prices, and plenty of fun for kids make this a solid family dining option.
